I first read his story in the great book "Bloods".
A hero and an inspiration.
Rest in Peace Col. Cherry.

My deepest respects.

Good people sleep peaceably in their beds at night only because rough men stand ready to do violence on their behalf.

Someday your life will flash in front of your eyes. Make sure it is worth watching.

Just read the book. Amazing what levels of mental, emotional, and physical strength some people are capable of in unbelievable circumstance. Col. Fred Cherry is indeed a REAL American hero. RIP.
