Just had a bit of time to fly WOFF today (a rare treat)
Turned AA down a bit in workshop...no drop in quality..but a massive rise of quality in stutter-free flying...the new patch (and probably many i've missed) is fabulous... hoping to get a bit more time to fly soon smile

I'm with UK_Widowmaker. Today was the first time in over a week that I got to fly for a bit. I'm also pretty sure the new roll rate with the latest patch saved my neck today. I flamed an FE2b which started heading for the deck. (very cool smoke and fire effects) I continued to tangle with the rest of his flight, and the flaming FE tagged me pretty good. I was able to bank away hard, but still ended up in the hospital for 19 days. exitstageleft

Maybe I can fly again tomorrow. Hope you get to the same, Widow. pilot

UK_Widowmaker,

Thanks for the tip. I toned down my AA as well and it improved the smoothness noticeably.

Just out of curiosity, what setting are you dropping it down to? I'm still getting the occasional hangs and stutters. Been playing around with my nVidia control panel settings and the perfect smooth game is still elusive.

I tried it and it didn't look good - the bracing wires get corny.

I have my setup like this: WOFF AA on 8x.
Then, before I start WOFF, I switch my graphic card's control center to "Override application settings"
for both Anti-Aliasing and Anisotropic Filtering.
The graphic card is set on 16x for AA, and 8x for Anisotropic.
Then it looks good, but doesn't stutter - at least for me.

I have an Intel i5 (2500k) CPU, and a RADEON HD7870 graphic card with 2 MB memory.

Here is a picture of my latest skin - note the wires:

That's a beautiful screenshot Olham!

Just out of curiosity - are you changing anything else in your card settings like vsync, power settings, pre-rendered frame rates? What are your workshop settings?

Sorry to ask so many questions. I'm this close to figuring this thing out! hahaha

Hope you are well my friend - how are things in Germany?

Yes - see my picture. I hope you can identify the German settings.
Sorry, I was wrong above - I only use 8x AA in the GPU control panel, and it looks good.
But I'll also try 16x now - maybe it gets even better.
In "Workshop" I have V-sync on "Driver setting", and in the ATI panel on "Always on".

Grey and rainy since two weeks at least. Bah!
But today we had a break with blue skies. Still a long way 'till spring... darkcloud
