How would I get here (from USA)?

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/%27s-Hertogenbosch

Do I fly into Amsterdam or another nearby larger city and then take the train there?

According to Google Map, the nearest airport is in Eindoven.

Now to find out which airlines flies from Texas, USA to Eindoven.

Amtrak can't get across the Atlantic to Europe.

I can't even pronounce that:

's-Hertogenbosch

Strange name, with an hyphen and an apostrophe in front.

There are no intercontinental flights to and from Eindhoven airport so indeed the easiest would be to fly to Amsterdam. I believe there are direct flight to AMS from Houston and Dallas. From Amsterdam you can take the train to 's-Hertogenbosch or as most people call it here, Den Bosch. By train it's about 2 hours, I think.

Just drove past Eindhoven yesterday on the way back home from Dusseldorf airport. smile

You are only likely to find flights to Amsterdam, then take the train to Den Bosch.

If you are going to be in the area give me a shout, though I live in another country I'm about an hour away from Den Bosch.

That is what travel agents are for.

There was only 16 squadrons of RAF fighters that used 100 octane during the BoB.
The Fw190A could not fly with the outer cannon removed.
There was no Fw190A-8s flying with the JGs in 1945.

Operation Market Garden started out from near here in Leopoldsburg, and there was quite a bit of fighting along the way towards Eindhoven prior to the operation.

One of the bridges over the Bocholt Canal is called Joe's bridge after Lt. Col. J.O.E. Vandeleur who was commanding the Irish Guards that took the bridge on the 10th Sept 1944.

Yes, fly to Amsterdam Schiphol, then take the train. Change trains once in Utrecht (famous as the starting point of last year's Tour de France, and for being my place of birth). Total trip takes 1h19 unless you decide to spend some time in Utrecht, which is a great city with a 2000-year history.

When in Den Bosch, do try the "Bossche Bol". The best ones are in the lunchroom "Jan de Groot", accross the road from the station.

It's a 10-centimeter sphere filled with cream and covered in real chocolate. Deeeelicious with a cup of steaming coffee.

Seems to be equidistant to the (international) airports of Brussels, Amsterdam, Dsseldorf, or Cologne. All of them have a rail connection, or you could get a rental car.

Seriously ...you could land at any of the airports mentioned. Just pick the one with best connections from your home town. Rent a car and drive or take the train. You will be no more than a few hours and will have the opportunity to see a bit of the country.

BTW.........I have to have one of those Bossche Balls smile
