Whose idea was it to cast a Victoria's Secret Angel and Supermodel to be in a Transformers movie?
Michael Bay. But he's apparently only supposed to do one more, so with a new director maybe the female leads can actually act in the two later ones. I bet Bay's next Transformers (and the previous one) was part of a deal with Paramount, they would finance Pain & Gain and 13 Hours if he did two more Transformers.

I Googled Michael Bay Victoria's Secret and I found 4 Victoria's Secret commercials that he directed on YouTube.
Since this is a family friendly forum, I won't post them here.
You can go look for yourself. Lens flare, check Explosions, check It's a Micheal Bay commercial.

"Have you had enough of "Transformers"?" I'd had far more than enough of transformers when my son was about five. Cheap crappy plastic toys marketed with a wretched japanese cartoon series written with less soul and creativity than an accountancy textbook, on a theme turgidly black-and-white with animation from the cheapest possible 5-frames per second one small object moving per frame low budget hack studio, with the worst voice actors ever heard on television.
Stunted the intellectual growth of a generation which could have been greatly edified by watching Rocky and Bullwinkle reruns, or Danger Mouse. Include corporate greed and they unwittingly unleashed a milestone in television/movie that wasn't surpassed until Game of Thrones. What am I talking about? Game of Thrones was notorious for killing off characters people love wasn't it? It's all over the media etc and people are talking how violent and painful it is to see characters who grew up on you die horribly. It is as if it was a first.. WRONG! As adults it was shocking. Imagine doing it to children. Go back to Transformers the movie 1984. To sell a new toyline, they came up with a simple plan. Kill off the old generation and introduce a new set of characters. This will force the kids to but the new set of toys. Kids watched characters they grew to love for two seasons slaughtered in a freakin violent fashion. Adults were crying about Game of Thrones but the kids were there first. To me this is a milestone, an unwitting piece of art as a result of corporate greed. Up to this day I haven't seen anything that comes close where characters you care about die in an unpleasant way. While Game of Thrones intentionally wanted to cause shockwaves, this wasn't intentional which made it more exquisite. Unfortunately you have a whole generation of kids traumatized because of that. Search Death of Optimus prime including the interviews of directors and producers. They caused a #%&*$# back then.

I'd had enough of the Transformers movies about halfway through the first trailer for the first movie.
But that's just me.
SALUTE TO ALL!

The only transformer movie that I like is the first.

Transformers are pass anyway, these days everybody uses universal switchers for most moderate power applications.
There's some cool work being done with high voltage DC power transformers with a few different companies and research labs here in Raleigh.

WRONG!

Wait, are you actually implying GRRM paid attention to, and then ripped off, a pop culture Japanese cartoon??? That certainly takes the cake. How exactly does killing off characters help GRRM sell more books? Have you ever heard ANYONE say "I'm glad they killed all those characters off, I can't wait to see what NEW characters are in the next book"? The Transformers cartoon was designed to sell the toys, so anything was fair game to further that goal. GRRM's books were designed to...well, sell books. The Jedi Master

Can confirm. I was one of those kids, and at the tender age of 5, I bawled like a baby when Optimus, Prowl, and Ironhide all were offed in the movie. And then had nightmares for weeks afterwards of Unicron's disembodied, eyeless head orbiting Cybertron.
