Answer about the "RECON cheater" in Dev's Q&A (Russian forum):

Interesting, is he saying it's currently impossible for someone to say, change flight characteristics, weapons, dmg, or that that is something they can prevent?

Those counter-strike and TF2 video's are quite old, is such a thing still even possible in those games?

Have I misunderstood?... is he saying that the cheaters always win, nothing can be done?

BoS/BoM dev's can assure that is not possible cheater only in:

(FM) flight characteristics of the aircraft
(Ammo) destructive power of weapons
(DM) damage model

Cheaters like suggested in OP video is "normal" (as in other games) and is useless fight against then...

The MP "RECON cheater" have some protection against in il-2'2k1 and in CloD (with collateral effects), but in BoS/BoM seems "no one care about".

He's right in that you couldn't fight wireframing, etc (Though there was something for CS way, way back we used that would take screenshots of players own screens periodically and send them to the server... banned a TON of "upstanding community members" back then).

But you CAN at least take away their access to the unlocked toybox that's BUILT INTO THE GAME... that's extreme high-dollar low-hanging fruit... because you knock out access to something that's extremely effective and RIGHT THERE... not to mention hacking lead-indication would be tough without it existing in the code, as well as wireframe being its own little hindrance too.

I dunno, it's not stopping me from playing the game... just keep your head on a swivel, and remember that when you kill a cheater, deep down their shame burns them, precious. It burns them, and it's a shame they can never share and be rid of, like reverse syphilis.

That's the story of all development. The problem here is the one in charge has vastly different ideas about should be priorities than a lot of us have.

IMHO:
The people that ARE ACTUALLY able to do those hacks should just force the devs to either man up, comment on the matter in a reasonable way AND ACT or be threatened that the hack will be made openly available to everone.
In the worst case it would even the playfield for everone.
For me this game is done anyways anyways right now - at least until the next patch comes in that hopefully does something to the stupid flapbehavior of for some reason only russian planes - "no, there is no bias, its a plain mistake that only the planes of one side behave they way they do...." . Well, at least they decided to finally act.
If the cheating has an end, the FMs will be fixed AND they add VR-support ther MIGHT be hope for a survival of this one. Otherwise its just a dead stinky fish.

Yes because the German aircraft have pneumatic flaps? would you expect them to have the same bug as the Russians in one unique flap system model i.e.Yak-1

No-one is saying everything is perfect and no sim will ever be, but your logic on why there are issues seems to be more biased

I know DCS has one simod and ATAG server with team fusion patches .

AFAIK there is NOTHING in place in this regard.
So if you dive down from 2-3k height advantage on your victim and he breaks off just in time, then in 90% of all cases you know why that happend.
