I see that ED Horizons is on sale at the moment at both FD and Steam. I only have ED at the moment that I bought in the sale for £9.99. It has been good value but was the most I had spent on a game for many years. The last full price one I bought was Skyrim on release.

I have to admit I am tempted to get Horizons for £19.99.

For us "loyal fans" who already have Horizons it would appear we get a gold paint job for the Asp.

The deed is done. Now I will have to do a bit of reading and then buy a cheap ship to practise crashing onto planets.

Actually I thought the same but it is kind of intuitive and I had no problems out the gate. A couple times I was too fast and, game mechanic-wise, it's just like getting pulled out of SC - annoying but not fatal.

Just think "Space Shuttle" and you will fit right in and you won't die.
May take a few to get real good though especially in high G worlds.

Good investment also. I found it added quite a bit to the game.

Do I have to have Elite in order to purchase Horizons? Little confused as it says it is a downloadable content for Elite?

Yes, as of now, I believe you need to own both.

Previous to this change to DLC a couple of days ago, this was not the case. However, the price of Horizons was higher before ($60), as well.

I think there are now 3 options; ED, Horizons dlc for ED and ED deluxe which is both together plus a few extras.
