TotalBiscuit's preview of it looks pretty great (XCOM EU on steroids):
Based on that video and the preview on RPS, I'm really looking forward to it, especially the weapon customization and loot, I saw a preorder on cdkeys.com for $30 so pulled the trigger on it.

Its never nice to hear, hope he gets through.
As for xcom2, i have to say its looking very good. I didn't get the original xcom as some of the game didn't sit right with me on paper, but i am interested in this.
Fighterops...
The only TRUE Stealth crowd funded game.
Devs said there was stuff there, but you just couldn't see it.
I still hate the base building. The whole point of the base building was picking the location and building it so it was defendable when it got invaded. That was the aspect I enjoyed the most about the old xcoms.
I really look forward to it. I missed the original (happened in a short period of my life without a computer) but loved the remake and also enjoyed Xenonauts (still haven't finished it actually). This time around I haven't watched any preview of any kind so I'm really going to discover everything this week end as I play it.
I didn't like the first one at all. Too much chess game, not enough combat game. I bought xenonauts instead and I like that much better. It's more basic and I like the old school clean graphics. I just wish I had more hours in the day to actually play it.
Loved XCOM, even tried the original. Love Xenonauts as well. I'm itching to get this but there's just so much on my plate... wondering whether I'll just wait for it to go on sale... bugs'll be fixed by then as well, I hope.
I enjoyed there first XCOM release but was bummed by the lack of base design and defense. It also seemed to drive you towards the end (i have to do this mission to get this next tech). Never felt that way in the original.
I will probably be getting this one but only after they release the DLC and I can get the combo. It's become my standard practice to save money.
Slightly of topic, who else hates the mind control aspect.
