After a busy week I am finally back in the cockpit of my Asp and running trade and missions. Obviously some BB missions (for delivery missions) are worth a heck of a lot more and are based on your trade rank.
Is your Trade rank determined by money made trading or total tonnage delivered? I think it is money related but wish to double check. And do the mission payouts count toward this total?
Think I just answered my own question. After posting the above I got lucky and stacked three delivery missions for almost 500,000 in payouts. After delivering the second I was promoted again after already being promoted earlier in this session. Obviously trade ranks are based on money made and the fees from deliveries count toward that number.
Yes, the money seems to be what drives a large part of that progress. There is a chart at the Wiki site, that estimates the income required for the various ranks.

Too bad I can't get lucky more often. Thought I was on to something but the last 8-12 BB checks are the same low grade missions.
Are certain stations/government types/economies/wealth levels better for high paying missions? Wish I could remember the name of the system where I got those three.

Duke, if you are in the asp, try ice's post on shadow deliveries. Not only is the money multiple times better, the boost to your rankings is hefty too.
The gameplay is fun aswel.
