The question I have is, will they actually follow their touted "real time" format this time or will they continue to have 2-minute commercials take between one and five minutes of story time? And will they show realistic travel times instead of going from the San Fernando Valley to Long Beach in ten minutes of show time?

Those are the reasons I only watched the first episode. If you're going to promote something as the first television show to run in real time (the commercials leading up to the premier episode all touted something of that nature), then by God you ought to do that. If you're going to compress or expand time like other movies and TV shows do then don't make the claim.

SALUTE TO ALL!

They better get the casting right.
I'm ok with a continuation without Jack, I guess, but only because the man needs a break! He got pretty well abused through the series, he's probably just one big calloused scar by now.
With us now having smart phones, and all they managed to do with just flip phones in the day, Jack and Chloe would probably solve the case in an hour or two. They wouldn't need 24 hours now!

They had a couple of very capable characters they seemed to be prepping to take over at various times, but they either lost an arm or got blinded by the end of their season taking that chance away. LOL

I don't see how they could make a character more hardcore than Jack, and it was getting hard to keep Jack one upping himself too. Hard to go much further than cutting off a guy's head in witness protection to prove loyalty to criminals to get some info. Maybe this guy could actually stay with CTU this time. Jack started as director, got demoted and soon wasn't even working there. He just kept getting drawn in.
They also need to scale back the plot. The assassination attempt in season 1 was perfect. Later it got hard to come up with plots since they felt they had to go bigger and bigger.

I love 24 but the problem with the show as compared to other TV series, for some unknown reason I can't never remember what happened in the previous seasons besides Jack stopping yet another group of terrorists from exploding a nuclear bomb in the USA.

No, 24 will not be the same without Jack.

The show got pretty convoluted when they brought his father into it, China, Tony's return etc.

Yeah, the last couple seasons were really hard to watch. All product placement and reheated character plotlines. Though Renee was nice to watch...

I always wondered why Jack kept doing that to himself. Virtually every season, he seemed to be screwed by his government. (Maybe I'm remembering it wrong). After about the 3rd time, I'd say, eff it, and go and disappear and never return.

Ah yes, Agent Dimples. She turned quite a bit. LOL

Jack did bring much of the treatment on himself, especially the Chinese. That started early on when he broke into their embassy and it came back to haunt him a couple of seasons later...and for a while after that.

24 is really boring to watch, Every episode or season is exactly the same.
24 hours to stop a major terror attack and political assassination. Rinse and repeat.

- I know those voices in my head are not real, but man they have some good ideas.

- I never killed anyone, but I have read a large number of obituaries with great satisfaction.

- Time is money, so I decided to sell my watch.

Well if you simplify it enough, pretty much anything can be humdrum.

Line up against a team in different jerseys, play the same game AGAIN people have played for decades.
(Super Bowl)

Climb down a ladder to the ground.
(Moon landing)

Flip a switch and the light comes on.
(invention of the electric light)

Just another day of brushing on some paint and watching it dry.
(Michelangelo painting the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel)

I don't see this working. Just like the Bourne-franchise didn't really work without Matt Damon (hence his return in the upcoming Bourne movie). A Bourne film without Jason Bourne is kinda dumb, especially if you cast the IMO bland-ish Jeremy Renner. So will be 24 without Jack Bauer.

At least give us the remaining 12 hours to the last half season (Live Another Day) to make it a full 24 hours. I'd like to know what happened to Jack after he boarded that helicopter at the end.

Yvonne Strahovski was pretty good, too. yep

Why men throw their lives away attacking an armed Witcher... I'll never know. Something wrong with my face?

24 without Keifer Sutherland is not 24.

I don't care if it's a different actor playing Jack Bauer or if they create a new character with a different name.

The only exception I would make if they did a 24 with Kate Morgan (Yvonne Strahovski) as the main character.
