I remember that place. I've been to Dubai twice. It's called "The Address." Anyplace named "The Address" has to be exclusive. I remember driving past The Address and thinking it was a Richie Rich condo, after all, it is Dubai. I didn't realize it was a hotel. But you're right, that fire is crazy. I hope no one was killed.

I read they started to coat the skyscrapers in the gulf region with polystyrene (Styropor). This insulates from the surrounding heat under normal circumstances. But it is also inflammable (- yes, I'm a fan of the old form).
"The Address" has fire barriers between each insulation compartment, but the flames simply went over.
In the end, only the facade was burning, only few people with smoke poisoning. There had been similar fires in the past.

Would have been quite the mess if it had collapsed like the WTC.
There was only 16 squadrons of RAF fighters that used 100 octane during the BoB. The Fw190A could not fly with the outer cannon removed. There was no Fw190A-8s flying with the JGs in 1945.

Considering that it wasn't nearly cut in half by a very fast airliner as well, and the construction of it is totally different, then there's close to zero chance of that happening.
