I played quite a bit recently after taking a long break; and although the game overall (gfx, sounds, terrain, performance, UI, etc.) is excellent; it's still plagued by KOS and griefing.
I'd almost say don't even bother if you play alone; you will get nowhere. Unless you can sink a LOT of hours into the first few days to build a good secure base, you will be constantly killed and your base leveled.
If you can find a group of players, then I'm sure it would be a blast. I've tried playing with a friend and both of us had spent 5+ hours each to establish a decent base; however, once we did it was attacked and leveled in seconds by a group of 4+ guys loaded with C4.
Once I was raided and the group that raided me brought me back to their massive base; but then I was killed a few hours later by a member because either he didn't recognize me, or they were just griefing me for #%&*$# and gigs.
I realize that's the gameplay they were going for; but I was hoping of a more faction or clan oriented type game when I bought it.
Bottom line - Don't bother if you can't dedicate the majority of your gaming time into it.
