I love it. That is a classic Brennus build right there.

Thanks Clyde! I was, unimpressed, w/ my initial build last night and went back to the drawing board shortly after we disconnected. I decided to add 2 MLAS's and AMS and the results, as shown above, are from a couple of live fire field tests just before I called it a night. I may tweak the armor a bit, but overall I'm pretty happy w/ the results, as I tend to choose load-outs that return the most fun from my investment, and this particular build may just yield the most fun to date!

That XL holds up long enough to get you through the round? I guess at that speed you make a tough target. I'll have to try that out, when I can afford the engine that is.

I've been running XL in all but one of my Battlemasters, no prob... but I run XL in darn near all of my mechs when I can. The advantage of the big XL engines to me is the additional heat sinks you can pack in there.

Any reason you didn't max out to the XL 400, Clyde? I'm think of buying a bigger XL for my BMs and thought should go up to a 400?

There is a pretty massive tonnage increase between the 380/390XL and the 400XL. I'd have to shave heatsinks and ammo to fit it and it seems like a good balance right now, not to mention the speed increase from 390 to 400 is pretty negligable. As it is the Battlemaster rolls at near 80kph which is Chuck Yeager speed for something that massive.

I'm running 400XL in a Banshee 3M and Atlas Boar's Head but my other XL assaults are running XL350-390 ( Victor, Awesome, Battlemaster ), and 325XL for Highlanders.

I would estimate the times I die due to CT / XL kills to be one game in 10 vs regular CT kills. The thing is pretty survivable and tanky.

The Battlemaster 2C is even more tanky with structure buffs- that thing with 4 large pulse lasers is scary. Played some rounds last night and got 5 kills several times with it.

I have the most time in my Battlemasters, by far my favorite Fun Mech. I'd love to see some of you multi-version configs, as it seemed at some point I was getting pretty well stomped a lot in that mech (my driving more than anything) gave it up to get some speed, but miss it a lot. I'll grind towards a big xl next. Thanks for the share.
