That looked quite good for a first prototype

Some people in the comments are complaining about the scale.

Personally, I don't care. I'd rather things be populated and compressed (especially so you actually run into other players) vs. huge vast empty expanses of procedural generation.

I haven't played this yet. Waiting for the first semi-full release with the campaign, etc.

The scale is off because they are testing it. Just like the crusader map the scale is off. WHen it goes live they will have planets that are closer to real sizes (but probably not full sized)

Right now most of the stuff in game is like 1/100th the size it should be.

The scale was fine, did you not hear the comment by Sean Tracy?
He was using Super Cruise, a dev version of cruise at one point he was over 5000m/s he said that he was using super-cruise as the regular cruise was too slow for demos as he had such a long distance to go.

I got a little 'giddy' as Sean did the slow approach and pass of the first tower on the way into the landing zone. Got the same feeling when I was first flying EECH and Black Shark and looking around while coming in for a landing. I got it again playing E:D with the DK2 when landing and flying through the resource extraction asteroid fields.

Even with initial slow framerates at Port Olisar, I'm still having fun with it...

Once they've got the server performance thing worked out and the match making easier in the large world maps, expect some PM's from me for co-op. Was playing some vanduul swarm co-op the past few days and it didn't seem too bad, even with a ping in the 600's. I was high score on one of the two games I was in and we did get to level 18.
