Interesting direction this thread has taken. I get in a couple of missions a week, but this time of year I would just like to fast forward to Jan. 2 and be done with it. On the other hand as I turn 66yo next week I know way too well how fast time travels, so let's not get to far ahead of ourselves, enjoy the moments as best we can, enjoy the family, play some WOFF, walk the dog, read this forum and have a laugh.
On to the banjo discussion, I'm not a musician, but I enjoy many styles of music. And I do have a collection of various styles of banjo. So my question to BJM although he may have answered it with his mention of "old style" music. Who do you like, Earl Scruggs, Bela Fleck, or Steve Martin? Or someone else not so much in the mainstream. Or do some hit the spot at any one time as they do for me. I'm a jazz guy, but I do like bluegrass too.
Hope we all enjoy our christmas leave! Late

I barely post lately, but I fly regularly, 3 or 4 flights a week I´d say. May give a try to modding WOFF this Christmas. Aris..god of mods..WOFF would be all the greater for any input you do:) Though soon there will be CM Bulge game and lots of whitewash to be done:)

Currently I am not able to take to the air as much as I would due to RL getting in the way! But I am always checking the forum.

BJM, both clips are excellent, love interviews with the "real" old timely musicians. Watch some from the Carter Family. Anyway, before non-banjo people revolt a couple more things from me. My favorite album along these lines is "Instrumentals" by Ricky Skaggs. Highlighting all the great tie-ins to Scottish and Irish music. That's one thing that makes music so universal is how it travels around taking a little bit here and a little bit there taking new forms, etc. Around here, New Mexico, we have an artist Sid Hausman, banjo and guitar, he's been playing for years, he's probably in his late 60's early 70's. His approach is more western/cowboy, so it just shows how music, banjo in this case, changes and evolves. Good luck with your music, my brother is trying to learn the banjo.
I must be a glutton for punishment, I always keep a DH2 campaign going.
But it is a quieter time of year, lots of RL with family stuff. Late, , ,
