Good to see CUP is still being updated. But I am waiting till the restore point installation method is no longer required. I would rather that get fixed than new content.
It is getting too complicated for me now.

Good to keep us updated though.

I do not believe the restore point installation method is intended to be fixed.
It is THE FIX to avoid conflicts between mods.

The main restore point requirement is a simple renaming of 1 folder and replacing it with the new one. (example: In the main game folder the WWI module is #DOF. Change to -#DOF and drag the new one from the zip file in.

All else in the zip file is just dragged into the main game folder and overwrite allowed when asked.

CUP can, based on its massive content and number of downloads needed for the entire package, be intimidating.
It was to me but once the leap is taken there is no going back.

One thing for people considering CUP but hesitating, due to huge downloads, to remember is that you do not need it all.

The one module that is mandatory is the first, the Maps.
Then just get what you want.
Like WWI? Get Dawn of Flight. Sixteen new Campaigns already out for this one.
WWI Campaigns

Want between the World Wars, get The Golden Age and fly amazing 20s and 30s scenarios, including the Spanish Civil War on accurate time period maps of Spain.

Then comes World at War, the most comprehensive WWII aircraft sim on the planet.
Most theaters of WWII are there for all major and some minor Countries, many nearly forgotten.

From 1946 til now there is the Jet War package, Early jets, Korea, Viet Nam and more modern content.
New Jet War Campaign: Screaming Eagles Over Korea

I am not familiar with the Full Mission Builder but it is spoken of as really top shelf and possibly the best ever.

Sort of like going to the market, get everything or just get what appeals to you.

Serious question, because I really want to re-install CUP. Is there anything major that has been broken with this latest update that you know of? That's why I jettisoned it a few months ago because all was well, then this update broke this, that update broke something else, the fix broke something the last update fixed, etc. Don't mind the dance, again, but that used to drive me crazy. This looks like a pretty comprehensive fix, though.

DaveP63, There seems to be no major issues with the new stuff and several minor ones have already been addressed.

SAS~Monty27 is all over any problems posted after a new release, patiently dealing with any issues.

I have wanted to go back to IL2 and install CUP but when you jump in now it does look very cumbersome to download and install, I'd rather have a torrent with everything and tick off any module I wouldn't want (but mostly I think I'd want them all because I love to play with new content in the full mission builder). I had not looked into the restore point installation but when I had a glance at the installation description its existence made the process sound more complicated than it should.

The inherent problem of torrent is - it contains a fixed set of all files for a given date and you still have to browse through a shedload of forum posts later to manually download all fixes and overwrite the torrented content.

Downloading a torrent when you know half of the package is outdated already isn't fun. Might as well use these manual links from the beginning, as you gonna have to do it anyway.
