sorry but this outfit will have the fashion police dragging you away to be locked up forever. the only way you can get away with this is if you wear a jacket over top of everything else and NEVER take off the jacket. the long sleeve shirt must also be a matching color with the t-shirt. but the risk of taking off the jacket and revealing your fashion disaster is high...! I have a white concert t-shirt I want to wear for a couple of days.
It's short sleeve.
But because it's cooler here now requiring a jacket, once you wear that the t-shirt will be covered and no one will be able to see the back and front of it.
So I was thinking of wearing a long sleeve collarless sweater or a long sleeve polo shirt with a collar and then wear the t-shirt over either one (NOT TUCKED IN) and forfeit the jacket.
Will that look tacky?

I do have white long sleeve thermal shirt I can wear underneath it and just let the sleeves stick out.
Fashion is a huge scam.
I remember I wore white slacks one time and white jeans another time and someone told me only gay men wear white slacks and white jeans. Should have blown him a kiss and said..Dahling, but i look fabulous! Wear whatever the hell you are comfy in, the things i have seen people wear at concerts, nobody normally gives a rats. I've seen guys in tutus at Metal concerts

I am 'north of 60'. What is this "fashion" thing you speak of ?? Before long, it'll mean pulling your pants up to your diaphragm for you.

Our urban centres ( there are a half dozen ) are ,sadly, quite "urban". With hipsters and skaters and "artsy fartsy/hippie" types who vote communist if they get the chance etc. "urban" is the same all over the western world. I do indeed, catch your drift, and wish it was otherwise......but downtown St John's has pretty much the same "denizens" as downtown Columbus Ohio or downtown London or any other town/city

wear what you like, how you like and be damned to what anyone thinks! As long as you dont work in the financial sector. I know an accountant who went from a major downtown metropolis environment requiring strict business attire (including heels), to an urban blue-collar environment where faded jeans and t-shirts are the norm (also hard hat, steel-tip boots, goggles and ear protection for going into production areas to count inventory). And she couldn't be happier about it! Remember when women dressed up in shoulder pads (see pic below)? ++++++++++ I think the OP's fashion is just fine (but coming from someone who shops for his clothes at Goodwills and thrift stores). In my 20's I had to clean up and wear suits (or at least a coat and tie) to work everyday, I freggin' HATED it! I hated the dorky doo as well, had to look all business like... Now I don't mind cleaning up and playing dress up every once in a while, but I pity people who have to do it every day (I don't believe my feet could handle daily wingtip abuse anymore).

When I first started working for EDS in 1998 I had to wear a suit and tie every day because the client I was providing IT support for was New York Life (insurance and financial services company) and EDS dress code policy was that we had to comply with the dress code of the client. Yeah, having to kneel down to the floor in order to hook up new desktops and printers while wearing dress pants, dress shirt and tie really sucked.

EDS dress code policy was that we had to comply with the dress code of the client. That is a really, really stupid policy for anyone not sitting at a desk all day. I always chuckle watching guys coming in to repair printers and whatnot struggling and choking out crawling around in a suit. I'm fine climbing around in the ceiling with "hiking" clothes on

If the client wants it you do it and keep your mouth shut.
