Torrents are a good idea to minimize server loads and costs for ED.

Too bad if it takes a day (I have 250 mbps down so an hour for me BTW).

I decided against buying it as it seems like it will be in alpha for a long time. But now I am regretting that. I'm sure screen shots from all of you won't help. biggrin

Probably because you aren't at the download stage, but at the stage where it copies files from your other DCS folder.

For 2 hours my updater working in http mode had been steadily crawling down to ~30 KB/s, then the connection with the server broke for good. Second attempt switched automatically to torrent mode and I'm getting anywhere between 0.2 and 0.6 MB/s now. A progress!

If downloading about 2 gigs of 2.0 core files causes so much headache, I don't even want to think what's gonna happen with 24 gigs of NTTR biggrin biggrin biggrin. Things will settle down a bit tomorrow I guess.

Yeah , it started downloading quite fast , in torrent mode I was getting 2 mb/s. Now its down to 86 KB/s , with 4GB to download :/.

I will see Nevada tomorrow maybe.

Anyway , it's great that it's finally released , now give us Strait of Hormuz and Normandy smile. Before the end of this decade.
