I did it.. I was 88% from West Africa.. Cameroon, Nigeria, and Gahna.. and 12% from Britain..As far as my direct ancestry.. the records get kind of smudgy before 1908...

Some of the Norwegian lines (paternal) can be traced to the 1600s to the Voss and Balestrand areas just within Ancestry.com alone. Those are pretty solid. There are some iffy ones going back to the 1500s in other areas.

On my mom's side (the non-Scandinavian) it's all over the place - 1600s in this country and as far back as the 1400s in the British Isles so far (I don't have time for it but my mom has been working on it for a few years now and since hurting her shoulder she's been pumping out updates daily, lol).

Heh, according to my Ancestry DNA profile results, about 1% of my DNA heritage comes from Ireland and 1% comes from Scandinavia.

So that means I'm about as Irish or Scandinavian as Antonio Banderas.
