Hey guys, I'm a programmer by trade and I was doing some research into the feasibility of incorporating the OFFice mod into WOFF. I'm the first to admit that I'm not a programming genius and I could use the help of anyone that is willing. If you aren't familiar with OFFice it added a role-playing aspect to OFF and I don't see why we couldn't have that in WOFF. Oldhat has sent me the files and I'm currently digging through them to see the connections, if you want to help just let me know. Thanks.

I'd help if I could but what I know about programming is best summed up by the following:

01101110 01101111 01110100 01101000 01101001 01101110 01100111

Sorry, but what did the Office mod add? I didn't have the chance to check it...

Oldhat would be a better source for that kind of information. As far as I can tell, OFFice gave you a way to role-play your pilot more significantly than you can in WOFF. It added a lot of extra stuff that was non-flying.

It did and it was pretty cool.
Good luck on your endeavor!
The high point of my software knowledge is "Control-Alt-Delete" I am afraid.

I've said it before, I'll say it again. I would pay well for an OFFice port.

Griffin - no programming experience here, but if you need help testing, or manipulating text files, just let me know.

No knowledge of programming here, but encouragement.

The possibility of getting OFFice to work with WOFF was the very first thing I asked about after buying WOFF.

Quite old thread, indeed, but if you are still interested in programming help, I am here.
BTW, I can see one big problem for OFFice - application reads/alters pilot data, however OBD secured it by encryption (in WOFF2).

If the community can offer help, it may work. It will need the help of photoshop/art designers for the screens, good writers for the conversations, and more programmers to help with linking it all together.

This project can be a collaborative effort from the forum community members and whoever is interested to help out. A dropbox account can be used to dump the project files.... What you say?

Yes.
Many things that I could "mod" in the old days (with Notepad...hehe) are now no longer touchable.

JJJ65, you are correct and that's why I haven't made any progress. I could never figure out how to get around the encryption. At first, I thought I could just simply edit it with a hex editor, but that doesn't work. You actually sound like a more accomplished programmer than I am and I would be willing to help you if you want to give it a go. Oldhat, that was what I was thinking. This community has a lot of talented folks in it and we should be able to come up with something.
