Newbie question...

I know that the S symbols stand for search radars and the 2-5 symbols stand for SAM site radars, but what are the H symbols?

In 4.32, it was the Hawk radar....

It is the Hawk and they saved my ever livin' arse!!!! I was completing a DEAD mission and took out 2 SA-2 sites. On egress my wingman and I were jumped by 4 SU29's. The Hawks took 2 of them out while my wingman was trying to engage. I actually saw a smoke trail from one of the missiles that a Hawk had fired and followed the trail as it hit one of the SU29's - I had to pick my jaw off the floor. I turned back towards the two that were left, but my warning lights/sounds were chirping and beeping like mad. I then went evasive while my wingman took out the 1 of the 2 left. I evaded 2 AA missiles, but the 4th SU29 took out my wingman. I got the heck out of dodge after that. Intense is an understatement!

I was just reading about how the RWR detects the radar systems from the Russian fighters and that the Mig 29's, SU27's, and SU30's have all the same radar systems so the RWR displays all those air craft as 29's.

Not knowing my Russian AC I just assumed the 29 was an SU made fighter as well.

Now being a bit more serious, the planes that attacked Wedge were most likely Mig-29s since this is what the North Koreans have. North Korean don't have Su-27s unless Russia or China enters the war (both countries have Su-27s) or Wedge is playing in the "Strong DPRK" theater.

The Su-30 radar shouldn't appear as "29" on the RWR since this variant has a different radar from the one that equips the Mig-29 and Su-27.

I had just started the 1st campaign. So China has not entered the war.
