Pol;

I'm not sure. would need to know the answer to the following:

All in one big file sounds good but I currently keep a backup of all the releases to date and so can restore easily without problems. I would also be somewhat concerned about the size of the file for downloads if it was excessively large. I'm not against the idea, but I'm not sure there is any advantage to me of having it all in one file.

The added features would be nice to have and I would definitely purchase those if they were included in the next release. Pricing may be an issue for some and there is no hint of a set price at the moment.

Thanks for the opportunity to provide feedback. That is what gives so much value to your support team and developers.

Best Regards

UPDATE: Well, as usual, I replied to this thread without reading all of the posts. In particular, the post by Winder on the whys and wherefores.

Yes, I would be interested in a V3 purchase all encompassing but probably not interested in the Ace reduction.

Yes as long as you brought it up I found a incorporated "Ace Reduction" to be a interesting add since it is so easy to do in a, quite simple, mod.
Or am I missing the "big picture" of how this makes something else better?

Is this retirement from flight sim development or did I read this correctly?

"Yes its WOFF3 and it will probably be our last major WW1 release"

Or maybe WOFF on new engine?

I can't begin to imagine all the work and dedication the devs have put into this wonderful sim, and I will be gutted to see development wrap up. I hope only that they will take their time with the final major release a thorough and polished final chapter that will let them go out on a high note.

OBD, thank you for everything you've done. I wish I had joined the ride earlier.

PS: When you do wrap up, I still hope that some energetic modder will be able to develop an Italian front.

Absolutely yes on the purchase of WOFF Gold.
While certainly understandable, it is very sad to read that the final chapter of this most amazing, awesome, immersive sim would be coming to an end.

I really welcome and appreciate every enhancement to WOFF, but I have already bought addon aircraft, historical skin and WOFF 2. So, I vote NO, because I prefer current system of payable addons and/or enhancements.

One other thing - there will still be addons down the road - we are simply mulling the idea of the last 'phase' of OFF/WOFF.

Historically for those that have been around a bit:

OFF P1
OFF P2
OFF P3
WOFF
WOFF2

and finally for 2016 the possibility of

WOFF Gold.

Thanks Winding Man,now it's clearer, because the Initial post was a bit "criptic",so Gold will be your farewell to the Sim scene....well I am sorry about this, but as good as it is,I'm sure WOFF will be around for many years to come.I live by the day, stopped making long term Plans many many years ago....will take and face what comes next. thumbsup

Still be add-ons down the road?!? Oh hell, that's good news. I thought you guys were calling it quits for future development altogether for WOFF.

Good grief man. Don't scare us like that. LOL

Now, that sounds SOOO much better!
You could have heard a huge stone dropping from my heart a minute ago, Winder!

So I get it you'd build a neat, finished final "theater" now, to which you might add over time
the one or the other flyable aircraft still; or maybe historical airfield sets, or whatever?

Duke, you seem to be right - not the end of the world, or life as we know it... cheers

Yes - the decision revolves only around the final phase...and it will be the last phase update if it goes.

Well I certainly hope that it DOES go, because I'm looking forward to the major Damage Model update, the terrain and scenery updates, possibly more ground activity including in the channel and hopefully some AI only aircraft - like more French 2 seaters. Those things alone would be well worth the money IMHO.

I was of the same opinion Hellshade! I was feeling kind of low, like loosing a best friend or your pet dog! It's nice to know the team is not breaking up just yet.

I'm hoping they will continue with the present WoFF, and continue to improve what we have now, there is so much more content not yet in game smile
I hope WoFF Gold is a long, long way off!

I don't think that's how it's going to work. I think either they will stick with the current WOFF and just make minor add-on packs from this point forward or they will do one more major release update to WOFF GOLD that has some big enhancements...and then make minor add-on packs from then on.

So if they choice be mine, I'd vote for the major payware update because its either one last one or no more.

Ah, I'm very happy to hear that there will still be expansion packs!

The idea of having a completely finished WOFF with nothing new to expect in the future was somehow terrifying to me. skyisfalling
