There actually may be truth in the post you are replying to, Jedi.

1). Product competition could impact their sales revenue.
2). We don't know what agreement each 3rd party holds with ED in relation to releases. I would hazard a guess that ED take a cut of sales, and if that is a guess, it would make sense that ED would organise strict release dates to maximize selling revenue. To do that you would need to stagger releases so that they do not clash with one another

No but ED does. Didn't the guys who are making the Gazelle just reveal that ED sets the prices for modules , if this is true, is it so hard to beileve they control release dates as well.

C6: Do you have an idea of the expected price?

It's ED that will set the price. They have their price list according to the degree of modeling module.

To fix the price they will perform a series of tests and decide on the category that the module will be included.

We hope to announce one of these, which is part of a larger project during the month of September, and the other in October.

We fully understand that it is frustrating to sit around and wait for an announcement of modules that are already so far into development; but I believe that you will all be very happy and very satisfied with the reveals coming up.
We have been extremely busy for a good reason, so prepare to have your jaws collectively drop. (Hopefully, anyways )

As mentioned in a previous update, both of these aircraft (just like the F-14) have required us to develop new in-house technologies and components.
We have also continued our work over the past few months to mature our in-house tools for easier analysis and creation of FM and system components.
Most of these new technologies do however refer to in-game cockpit systems and avionics. Some have simply been time consuming, while others have been difficult in design, replication and implementation.

They include, but are not limited to for example;

Ground Mapping and Targeting Radar
Complex missiles with Advanced Targeting Parameters
Custom shaders for enhanced visual fidelity (e.g. CRT Screen representation)
Unique visual features (In-pilot customization, etc.)
New audio cues and enhanced fidelity
Far more complex avionic and computer systems than in the MiG-21
New and unique PFM features and aerodynamic configurations
New or unique methods of propulsion or force distribution

We're also investing a lot of time into auxiliary components that require a lot of care and attention to detail.
These include Audio, UI Artwork, Documentation, Mission & Campaign building, Training packages, music and Web/PR.
Usually these are done in the final stages of development; where the aircraft approaches a feature complete status.

The manual for one of our upcoming aircraft currently weighs in at around 350-400 pages; making it one of the thickest DCS manuals to date.
Lots of fun, detailed reading for you all – but also nicely illustrates the complexity of our roadmap.

1. VTOL? HArrier? What russian jet can vtol?
2. Variable wing? Mig27?
3. Manual of 300 pages cant be a ww2 plane. so it has to be the other one.
4. Mig31?
5. I hope it is not a random swedish plane
6. Russian plane is more likely than US plane because there is already an f14, and a f18 by ED
7. Has to be a plane that was already in use in the laet 70s at best, because anything newer would be classified I think
8. Complex avionics, variable wings, ground radar, russian, more complex than mig21 = mig27 or su24

The price itself is not dictated by ED. The evaluation of the model will propose to us what could be a reasonable price for the market, which is a meer help from ED .

I hope this gets this discussion about price tags out of the threat again. Thanks for your comprehension

The potential I guess.

As for LNS waiting for Mirage or staggered release... There should be "around the corner" the Spitfire and P47 from ED, F5 from BST... LNS said they try to come with maps also... so we will have in a rather short time NTTR, SoH and other. Is impossible to make such releases especially when you have at least at 3 months big sales and people buy more around holidays and less after them.

What point is there, really? It's just deaf ears unless there's something to rant about.

You couldn't possibly be further from the truth, even if you tried.

Mind you, most of the info that comes out from Cobra of course turns out to not be true, ala announcement/release dates.

Thought he does seem to be an expert in these.

Seriously LN team, don't take every rant as an offense, my guess is spoilt childs like us rant only because your product is the most exciting in DCS series atm, and everyone wants to know more about your next.

I'm really looking forward to your next planes, not the early acess guy but when a product is really good I don't mind paying full price.

Hang on, and don't worry too much about comments unless they're about an alreasdy published product.
