Today we reach a major milestone in IL-2 Sturmovik project and we sincerely hope you'll enjoy the new stuff.

First of all, we added the long awaited summer and autumn seasons along with the new campaign that covers early stages of Stalingrad battle from last days of flaming August to the middle of November when first snowflakes started to fall on the ruins of the city. In the new campaign we've tried to implement some of your requests and it contains static scenarios in addition to regular dynamically generated ones. Each one of them is a short story of a Russian or German pilot, a small episode of the world war.

Second, a new plane appeared in the 'already released' list of Battle of Moscow aircraft - Bf 109 E7. Now all customers of Battle of Moscow can fly it while those who have only Battle of Stalingrad can choose it as an enemy, as well as all other BoM planes.

Third, today is a happy day for those who pre-purchased standard edition of Battle of Moscow - now they can jump into pilot seats of I-16 type 24 and Bf 109 E7 (only the owners of Premium version of Battle of Moscow could fly them earlier). MC 202 and P-40E planes are still exclusive to Battle of Moscow Premium version, they will be available for separate purchase later.

Just in case you haven't noticed, there is an active sale underway. Now you can add La-5 and Fw 190 A3 to your account if you own standard version of Battle of Stalingrad at half the price. Standard and Premium (which already includes these two planes) editions of Battle of Stalingrad are also 50% off, so if your friend (or maybe even you) doesn't have BoS yet it would be a good opportunity to fix this. Please note that additional planes should be added on Steam for Steam version and in our store for non-Steam version.

See you in the sky, pilots! For a safe take-off don't forget that engine power is significantly lower at higher summer temperatures than during winter.

Start where you are. Use what you have. Do what you can.

Maybe I'll have a chance to fly it this Saturday before taking the kids trick-or-treating and check out the new seasonal maps. I'll grab Pat's DCG at the same time. I've not flown this in literally months, never able to work up the enthusiasm. frown

Will be curious to hear thoughts on the SP campaign changes/addition if anyone has a go at it...

I start this new Campaign, first chapter "Advance to the Volga" with the usual dramatic CGI introduction.
EXPERT mode, Luftwaffe (as a good soldier of fortune you can turncoat when desire).

In the Briefing are some text "novel" about recent war events and squad members...

The 1st mission is air start, a Rotte of Bf 109 flying East, to patrol over enemy airfield near Volga.

There 3 Yak-1 is on "1 minute scramble" with his UFO lights on (in daytime). smile



A flare was shoot and they begin to take-off.

Give order for the wignman cover me, bounce one the "bad guys" on runway - My wingman almost collide with me!



Reverse and shoot the two other's and get out. Latter my wingman fly over a AAA position - far from target area, and as hit, landing "behind enemy lines" - is now MIA/POW. smile

Fly in reverse course for West ~270, using the old "IFRR" - in Summer map the cities is more hard to see, they are almost covered by trees - but eventually arrive in home base on the East side of the Don river, see some Luftwaffe planes flying for East.



Home base.



Landing, taxi, park, end the mission.



Get the confirmation "Mission completed, the "traditional" amount of "XP" points, "level up" a bit, receive that "scout metal" for support some ground force unit, YadaYada... smile



Anyway have some fun with the "IFRR". wink

I have copied my installation of BoS to a different location on my computer. My original copy updated successfully but how do I get my second copy to update? When I try to start it, it tells me there is an update available, but there is no link to update it.

Delete the copied folder (save ...\IL-2 Battle of Stalingrad\data\input\ current.map and current.input if want preserve keys assignments, missions, screenshots...) and copy again the updated folder.

Or try deleting the contend of the folder Update in this copied game folder, and then start the Launcher.exe inside
this same copied folder in...\IL-2 Battle of Stalingrad\bin\game\ not be the shortcut in desktop.
