Last night was a great experience, my flight of 6 escorted 6 bombers . They made a run and headed home. We had lots a fuel so we went Hun hunting. Soon we came one to 8 Alb Huns and the furball was on. I saw "Voss" and went after him. We went at it for some time before he had to slow his turn to avoid an oncoming Camel and I got some hits on him. After that I kept up the attack but his friends made it hot for a while until my guys run them off of me. Soon Voss went down smoking in a spin. Later I got two more. All of those were "man to man" over one of our aerodromes.
That makes 9 kils total, and later Promoted to Captain. I bought the drinks and wild women for the night. Good thing we took some time off to recover for the next mission ( #10 ).
I really wish I knew how to do all of the fancy photos and videos you guys do.

Bandicam is super easy, and the trial that I'm using is free - your computer shouldn't have any trouble running it either. You just download it at http://www.bandicam.com/ - once it's installed you just leave it running before starting the game, press F12 to start recording and F12 again to stop. you can also press F11 for screenshots!

The two day advance confirmed the two albatros claims, two HAs! Beagle is an Ace! Think I screwed up on advancing days. I'm thinking it should be the 12th not the 13th.

Mission 9 November 19, 1917 Airfield attack at Phalempin B-flight: 5 craft led by Oscar Trask. No A-flight. ....
Wouldn't you know it? It's our old friends Jasta 12 - the black tails.
Was it Schock?!?!?! Will's been a bit disappointed that he's not been given a mission down by Epinoy to have the chance of running into J12

MudWasp, very precise timing for that picture of the D.V disintegrating in front of you. Did any of the debris hit your plane?

Loftyc, like BJM said, I think Schock is gone by now - didn't see him, that's for sure.

Mission 10 November 29, 1917 Airfield attack at Haubourdin B-flight: 5 craft led by MacLaren. A-flight: 5 planes flying top cover. Here we go again. Another airfield attack. It's still dark. We reached the airfield hoping to catch the enemy on the ground again, but no such luck. We dropped our bombs and proceeded to strafing the field when 4 Rumplers arrived and began to land. Apprehensive of their gunners I shot at the trailing one from safe distance landing solid hits when my guns jammed. 'Taffy' realized I wasn't able to clear it, finished the job for me and we all turned back and returned to our base.

Beautiful shots Fullofit!
Mission 10, 17 November 1917 - Balloon Busting Finally my Camel arrived! I haven't had a chance to paint her yet but I did take her up for a little joyride over the airfield - definitely has more spirit than the Pup but also more guts and bite! On our mission, I saw aircraft fighting as we passed over the front but by the time I caught up the remaining planes were all ours - bombers and escorting scouts. Unsure where my flight was by this point, I escorted the bombers home and then flew back to Filescamp, arriving coincidentally just when the rest of Squadron 46 did.

Mission 10 Line Patrol November 26, 1917
This day will certainly go down in the history books of RFC 46 as the day we absolutely murdered the Huns. Me and the boys were ordered to fly a DOP this morning down southeast of Athles. We got to our patrol area without any trouble and started patrolling. Before long, a flight of three Albatros came along and as soon as they saw us they turned and skedaddled. Well, we weren't having any of that and we proceeded to chase them down. I got one of them and the rest of the boys split the other two. As we were forming back up, here came six more Albatros and these wanted to play. They dove and we climbed and met somewhere in the middle. I was able to hit a few, but I couldn't do much more than that. After the dust settled, I looked around and the sky was empty of Hun machines. I turned for home and when we landed I learned that we had shot down nine Hun machines. I got one, my wingman got four, Tom got two and two other guys got one apiece. I think I'm starting to love my new machine.

Mission 8 12 November 1917 Escort We're tasked to escort RE8's over the lines and once again I'm relegated to the Pup while everyone else has a Camel. It's an absolutely crisp, clear morning. We take off at 0700 and head for the lines. Once again A flight overtakes me while I lead B flight in the Pup.. After 20 minutes climbing I notice our Archie going of in the direction of where we need to rendezvous with the two seaters. I notice a few dots in the distance milling about a steady group of planes. I can only assume it's the enemy attacking our RE8's. As we draw closer the enemy peal away one by one. I do notice one enemy down low and signal my flight to attack one further away as I tackle this one. I dive down and start firing just as I notice that its propeller has already been stopped. It goes into a left spiral and crashes. I think I'll claim it anyway. I climb back up and head once again for the lines. I swan about for a while but don't see any one about so make my way home. About 2 miles short of the airfield I notice a number of enemy two seaters high above escorted by single seaters. I start to climb when I notice one Albatros break free from the formation and spiral down to attack me. I've seen this before and wait for him to get close before I loop and come back down on his tail. He starts to circle but I close on him and soon he is heading earthwards to crash short of Etrun airfield. I make my way home again only to have another two Albatros scouts dive down on me. One breaks away in a half hearted attack while the other comes in full bore. Once again I break into the attack and we start circling. I get off a few quick shots when this chap decides he's had enough fun and climbs away from me. I finally make it down and put in for 2 scouts. Everyone has made it back. A few days later I'm notified that the second of my claims (and only justified one) has been awarded.

Good job, Smosh! Better get that Camel painted up, he should be coming soon! Just be careful until then!

Loftyc, like BJM said, I think Schock is gone by now - didn't see him, that's for sure. indeed, I found something that referenced "Das Kriegstagebuch der Jagdstaffel12 " by Michael Schmeelke, reporting May19, 1917 Ltn. Karl Shock (2 victories)- killed at 0740 hrs. near Dury-St Quentin by AAfire oh well.
