What is the current rumor status on the new LN modules? The 2 unnanounced ones, I recall seeing some ww2 warships on the LN site backgrounds, and then I found this:

I'm crossing my fingers for the F7U-1 and the XF10F. The former operated off straight deck carriers, so that works, and the latter was an early experiment in variable-geometry wings, so it should be a logical step from there to the Tomcat, right?

A Zero would be fantastic to pit against the P-40.

Actually, a DCS A6M2 would be fantastic even if I'd only be able to fly it around the Black Sea.

+1 QFT.

Now- if anybody cares about my sanity, please I'll take an Intruder. And with a side of Safe Airframe Human Co-Op.
Thanks,

I don't think a viggen would interest a large enough portion of the player base to make it financially viable. An intruder, now that would interest even me enough to pick it up in a sale

I would love a great F4U Corsair. The whole Pac War has been ignored far too much since CFS2 and later Pacific Fighters, which never had good enough carrier ops for me. AOP and 1942 PAW were better for that theater even though the plane modeling left a lot to be desired.

I think a Viggen is too obscure. No one except a swedish person probably would care about it. A Mig27 sounds interesting to me. Has ground radar, variable wings, LN already has experience with mig stuff, and it would be a great sell for the russian customerbase. That said, either a famous american or soviet plane is going to be it, I am sure.

And if we look at the existing pattern, there is a mig21, they announced an f-14. Means they are going for the famous cold war planes, which makes more sense in amount of sales.

Also I am betting that "watery and cold" map they will ship with one of the planes will be some bering strait area. Lots of water, some islands, and no famous landmarks they would have to model. And its between the USA and Russia. In comparison, if they went for some northern european area, they would have to invest much more into recognizable objects.

Actually there's a question - what about a fictional modern era terrain, ala ARMA? Do you reckon that could be a runner?

The problem with fictional is no matter how much work you put into it people will think you didn't work hard at all because there's nothing to compare it with. Even fake terrain is hard to make.

Arma is not quite fictional. It's based on the real world area, carefully researched, with correct flora and urban areas, and lots of bunnies. The areas are sometimes slightly scaled down, and obviously they have fictional, but believable names.

The semi-realistic setting fits the Armaverse, but I don't think it would fit a realistic hi-def simulation.

My wish list modern aircraft:
GR1 Tornado (I have always loved that aircraft and it would nice for coop play)
F16 Falcon (To me this has always been the most beautiful airplane, probably this together with the Draken and Star Fighter are the Danish Fighter jets I remember from my childhood)
F4 Phantom II (how can something so ugly, be so beautiful?)

Wish list WW2
p-38 Lightning (To me a classic WW2 airplane)
p-61 Black Widow (Always found this to be an interesting airplane)
p-39 Airacobra (would like to try to "fly" this thing with the engine in the back, also think it has an interesting history being used by the USSR also. And I guess that the big gun make it like the grand daddy of the a-10...)

Noob in current sims, but played tons of combat sims back in the 80's and 90's

Flying:
DCS World 2 Beta
Prepar3d primarily GA planes
Elite Dangerous

And I love games like XCOM, Fallout etc

System:
I7-2600k, MSI GTX 1070 Gaming X 8 gigs, 16 gigs memory,Thrustmaster Warthog, Thrustmaster MFD, Saitek pro flight pedals and TrackIR 5
Saitek yoke, multipanel, radiopanel and switch panel
3* Dell U2414H
