I'm attempting to build an Excel sheet to place assigned commands to a controller so that the page could be printed. In this case a CH Products FighterStick and ProThrottle. I would like to have a drop down list of available aircraft for said game populate when a game (from a drop down) is selected. Any help would be greatly appreciated. The code (in case you can't see/read the attached picture) is as follows: =IF(B1="COMBAT FLIGHT SIMULATOR",=$A$51:$A$57,IF(B1="COMBAT FLIGHT SIMULATOR 2",=$C$51:$C$57,IF(B1="COMBAT FLIGHT SIMULATOR 3",=$E$51:$E$83,IF(B1="COMBAT HELO",=$G$51,IF(B1="DCS WORLD",=$I$51:$I$65,IF(B1="EECH",=$K$51:$K$52,IF(B1="EEAH",=$M$51:$M$52,IF(B1="EAW",=$O$51:$O$61,IF(B1="FALCON 4",=$S$51,IF(B1="FLAMING CLIFFS",=$U$51:$U$56,IF(B1="GAIJIN FLIGHT SERIES",=$Q$51:$Q$60,IF(B1="IL2 1946",=$W$51:$W$366,IF(B1="IL2 BATTLE OF BRITIAN",=$W$51:$W$366,IF(B1="IL 2 BATTLE OF STALINGRAD",=$W$51:$W$366,IF(B1="IL 2 CLIFFS OF DOVER",=$W$51:$W$366,IF(B1="IL 2 PACIFIC FIGHTERS",=$W$51:$W$366,IF(B1="JANES F/A 18",=$Y$51,IF(B1="LOMAC",=$U$51:$U$56,IF(B1="OVER FLANDERS FIELDS",=$AE$51:$AE$93,IF(B1="RISE OF FLIGHT",=$AC$51:$AC$93,IF(B1="STRIKE FIGHTERS",=$AA$51:$AA$70,IF(B1="TAKE ON HELICOPTERS",=$AG$51:$AG$93,IF(B1="MS FS X",=$AJ$51:$AJ$93,IF(B1="MS FS IX",=$AJ$51:$AJ$93,""))))))))))))))))))))

That's not a cell, it's a space station. There were TRS-80 programs shorter than that.
I'm not convinced Excel is the best way to do this. Sure, you can probably make it work, but it seems like jumping through a lot of hoops. Especially if the end result is just to print them out. Couldn't you make a PP slideshow and just have one game per slide? Or a PDF?
Unless you have some mechanism for importing stick profiles in to automate it...

Oooh, I used to do convoluted automated sheets that did similar things in my last job!
A few things:
1) You could send me the file and have me dink around with it. 2) Do you want just a list of aircraft, or do you want the aircraft selectable? 3) You're dooming yourself by typing in the name of the sim. Any extra space or misspelling means it's broken! A) Put a number beside each sim. B) Enter the number. C) Use either an IF or conditional formatting to then display the name. 4) I'd also shift the selection either left or right, rather than on top. The plane listings will either not fit or push everything down out of alignment. 5) A couple other tweaks (all aircraft in one cell, formatted to wrap), etc.
On Excel, I used it to do three year's DoD recruitment data by ZIP code, add it up to each parent unit, do percentages, parse the recruitment mission. Oh, and the units were built by ZIP code to allow for territorial alignment and matched. Once set up it was a simple copy-and-paste from a .dbf file, enter the mission, and the results spit out.

Lol, and I thought I knew a little about excel. Guess not. Wheels Really, me too. You guys need to turn in your man cards NOW! J/K. Just jealous, and thinking about all the hours I wasted trying to do much simpler stuff.

Well, after a bit of re-arranging of cells and writing a new code, I'm in business!
=IF(B1=A50,A51:A57,IF(B1=B50,B51:B57,IF(B1=C50,C51:C83,IF(B1=D50,D51,IF(B1=E50,E51:E65,IF(B1=F50,F51:F52,IF(B1=G50,G51:G52,IF(B1=H50,H51:H61,IF(B1=I50,I51:I60,IF(B1=J50,J51,IF(B1=K50,K51:K56,IF(B1=L50,L51:L366,IF(B1=M50,M51,"")))))))))))))

This is no bull....I just learned how to add a column of numbers a few weeks ago.
I am old. That might be something to pride yourself on.

You can add rows too. =+G1+F1+E1+D1+C1+B1+A1 That's old school excel. You don't need the plus sign after the equal sign anymore. =G1+F1+E1+D1+C1+B1+A1 =SUM(G1:A1) The sum formula does the same thing as using each column with the plus sign. Wheels
