Ok... I said I wouldnt buy any new ships but damn that ship is eating away at my resolve slowly. Might upgrade an existing ship to one like my mustang (which I hate). I just wish they wouldnt put the cockpits way up on the nose like they do. That has to be rough on the pilots that far from the CoG.

FAQ is going to come out later today AFAIK

Thanks, just read this and found it quite useful. I didn't realize this could be a bomber as well!

Now here's a question, I currently have a Gladiator ( as I quite liked the idea of CAS as well as fighter type game play ), I see I can exchange it for a Sabre for just $6.00. My question...Should I??? LOL.

Pros and cons for each? TBH I was a bit disappointed with the look of the Gladiator when it landed in my hanger as it didn't look as nice as the concept images I'd seen of it. But would it be far superior to the Sabre in a bomber style role?

Thoughts please?

Gladius - Light Fighter
Saber - Medium Fighter (multi role)
Hornet - Heavy Fighter

Gladiator - Medium Bomber

Gladiator is going to be heavier, more anti ship payload and a longer range. saber is a stealth fighter though so you might could equip a strike package with it? I have not looked at the stats on missile size. I think it is s2? gladiator is s4? So a significant difference in the two.

Thanks, good point about the difference between the payload sizes. Just looked up the 2 and the Gladiator packs a considerably larger punch.

GLADIATOR
Pylon
2x S3 - 4x ASIM-09/Tempest (3)
1x S5 - 4x Torpedo (5)

SABRE
Pylon
2 x S2 - 6x Coming Soon

I think I will hang onto the Glad, still tempted by the Sabre though. yep

Gladiator was billed as having some modularity in the future, so if you want to do things other than fight, keep that in mind.

https://robertsspaceindustries.com/comm-link/transmission/14366-Anvil-Presents-The-Gladiator-Bomber

"The civilian model of the Gladiator appeals to those that want explore the ‘Verse with a bit of added security. Supporting a maximum of two, the Gladiator is perfectly equipped to explore and fight with or without a wingman. The Civilian model allows pilots to choose between an extra cargo hold or a bomb bay. One of the aspects of the Gladiator that has made it so popular is its easily modifiable frame."

Ended up caving in and melting a Merlin and CCUing a Cutlass Black for a Sabre. Like the Retaliator... just liked the look of it.
