I have a Saitek X52 HOTAS and I'm having a problem assigning the zoom view to my slider in DCS World 1.5. I have followed the instructions to the letter but it just refuses to work for most of the DCS aircraft modules with a few exceptions. The FC3 aircraft modules that I have like the A-10A, F-15C and the DCS Su-25T the slider assignment works. Any thoughts on why it will work with some aircraft and not others? Also I do have TrackIr but it is not active when I was trying to set up my slider. Just to be clear I have not fired up DCS 1.5 since I installed it with TrackIr active so it's not even listed in the controls GUI.

Hi LOF_Rugg, Thanks or replying. See that's the problem with the TrackIr, it's not even listed in the DCS controls GUI. I think that is because since I updated to DCS 1.5 I have not used TrackIr in the game so DCS did not automatically detect it and list it in the controls GUI. The last peripheral listed in the axis control GUI (or in any of the controls GUI) is my mouse. I have tried clearing the camera zoom view from mouse control in the axis control GUI hoping it would default to my slider, but that didn't work either for most of my DCS AC modules. I'm just really confused as why the slider works with the FC3 and SU-25T aircraft (even if I do/don't clear the zoom from mouse control) but not with my other DCS aircraft (A-10C, P/TD-51, Fw-190D9, F-86, and UH-1)and I do make sure to save my profile whenever I make any changes and make sure my profile is loaded before I start any session. At first I thought it might be a 3rd party AC issue but the A-10C was made by DCS correct?

Hi LOF_Rugg, ...See that's the problem with the TrackIr, it's not even listed in the DCS controls GUI. I think that is because since I updated to DCS 1.5 I have not used TrackIr in the game so DCS did not automatically detect it and list it in the controls GUI... It'll detect it, if you turn it on and, then, start the sim. Dumb question. Are you scrolling the input screen to make sure TIR isn't hidden to the right? I ask because the first time I used 1.5, I thought I was missing something and discovered it, when I noticed the scroll bar.

Hi RSoro01, Thank you for replying. Yes I understand that DCS will auto detect my TrackIr if I have it turned on and start DCS World. Thing is I have never ran DCS with TrackIr since the 1.5 Update. I will check the input screen again but I'm pretty confident I did scroll all the way over and the last column was for the mouse. What's really strange is I'm able to map the zoom to my slider with the FC3 aircraft. I pretty sure FC3 aircraft support TrackIr too, so I'm reasoning the slider shouldn't work for these aircraft either if it's a TrackIr conflict. I'm suspecting I either need to reinstall DCS or it's just a bug with mid to low end HOTAS controllers. I was hoping someone out there had a Saitek X52/Pro they are using with DCS and can either confirm or not confirm the problem I'm having. I think before I do a reinstall I will try DCS with my TrackIr on and see if I can map my slider then.

Just wanted to put some closure to this. Went ahead and activated my TiR and was able to get the zoom view mapped to my X-52 slider, weird it wouldn't map without TiR, but working now.
