So ive finished the tutorials, several times actually and while I wont claim to understand everything I do think I have a fairly good grasp of the basics that is taught.

Where do I go from here, are there any downloadable training missions/tutorials that will continue teaching tactics, systems and perhaps radio/communications?

If I try and do a mission or the campaign, I end up having no clue whats going on smile

I hear a lot of good things about the Maple Flag Qualification campaign - https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/203573/. Not tried it myself so can't comment from personal experience.

Gerry Abbott has produced some of the best tutorials I have seen so you may want to have a look at them here Gerry Abbott If you plan on doing multiplayer then you should get Teamspeak and a headset with mic. Jump on the SimHQ Teamspeak server and join a mission when available. Learning from other people can be much more effective and lot more fun than tutorials. Stick with it until you start enjoying the rewards of all the work done in training.

I did go ahead and purchase the Maple Flag BFT package and by the first mission alone I see this is gonna be a whole new level of failures for me biggrin

But this is the best part; learning and being forced to learn new stuff!

Don't be shy about multiplayer. I spent maybe two months doing training missions and then found a nice little multiplayer server and have enjoyed DCS in multiplayer ever since...

That said, take a look at my signature link to a lot of missions that you can download and fly on your own.

Find my DCS World missions at Wrecking Crew Projects. All released missions are free to download, modify and publicly host -- enjoy!

Multiplayer sounds exciting indeed, both Falcon BMS and DCS, but I dont feel im even close to the experience for it.
Hell, according to Maple Flag instructor, I shouldnt even be in the cockpit biggrin

I would have a thousand questions and probably misunderstand most answers as english isnt native to me.

What is mostely being flown multiplayer, co-op or adverseral?
How is the multiplayer community for us in europe, I figured the community is mostely US based so might be a bit hard for me to find ppl at the times I can fly?

OK I'm in similar situation, I can;
startup unassisted
takeoff
land
use weapons CCIP, CCRP, MAV, guns
contact JTAC
use 9 line to enter coordinates into CDU

I tried an instant mission and had a hard time finding the enemy!

I see radio traffic of attacks but how to find enemy? I followed the bearing in radio traffic but didnt see anything! Where are they? What to do?

I think maybe I need to hook data from allies in TAD?! Not sure how to do this, but if this correct can research more on youtube.....

or is JTAC the answer here?

I have NOT done any missions, or campaigns...... I thot I want to understand basics of combat first any suggestions appreciated.

While I watched the first startup tutorial I learned little, I think because the tutorial points to what you need to click, I really learned startup, after trying an instant mission by myself and struggling with it...now I know it, so I was taking the same approach with combat, struggle thru and LEARN not spoon fed click the highlighted button because ...Nothing ends up in the head.

Advice appreciated.

Thanx

ps, I've watch some of Jerry Abbott's Youtube videos and yes they are helpful.

OK, duh

I found them on the map F10, not the TAD, easy now.

Is it possible to hook from the map, to display targets on the TAD?

Read the coords and type them in the jet. The F10 map is not part of the airplane.

Yes you are right of course, but I realized what was wrong.

I had not been in Create Fast Mission before, and I started slowly from the ramp. By the time I got my plane into the air many of the enemy were already destroyed.

I didnt realize I had so many allies, I couldnt find them because they were already destroyed.

Starting from the air was more successful.
