First Pilot: Wolf Jager, complete the German training course quite successfully (although i did have an engine failure on one of the flights which nearly cost me my life). Finally finish the training, get sent to the front, stuck in a Fokker EIII. "Why can't this thing turn?" Manage to keep formation well enough, until we get to our destination over the front lines and some punk in a Nieuport 11 comes and shoots me down. Welp that didn't take long.

Second Pilot: This time I join the french, think I'd rather be flying the Nieuport 11 against the Fokkers... nope. I survive my mission, but the Bebe scares me, it always sounds like it's about to come apart.

Third Pilot: Fiiine I'll try the Sopwith Pup. Flies like a dream, easily stay in formation, we're happily patrolling the front at 6500 ft when suddenly my wingmen start flying funny, I check behind me WHAT THE HECK IS THAT BRIGHT RED D III DOING THERE!!!? I head for the deck. Apparently I'm not very interesting because nobody follows me.

I'm enjoying this game a lot. Third pilot is still alive, has about 5 hrs of flying time and on a later mission i was able to damage another D III pretty badly but no confirmed victories yet. I'm really enjoying this, very glad i took the plunge. smile smile smile

Welcome Ace. Always happy to see new folks enjoying this great sim. Sounds like you have a pretty good handle on WOFF already! Look forward to hearing of your adventures.

Haha, that's a cute little Mr. Penguin on your Pup, Ace!

WOFF is still young, you are not too late to join in to the show.

Love the Penguin !
I used to fly as a Penguin with the Raf74 back in IL2 days. Mostly dropping Penguin eggs or Penguin turds in B-flight as a bomber pilot.

Welcome, Ace!

Sounds like you're having fun, and that's the point of any game simulation!

As Rick said, please consider joining the Sopwith Challenge. It promises to be a great deal of fun.

Thanks! I think I will have to join that challenge, it looks like fun!

Also, I just got my first confirmed kill! It was fairly exciting, my squadron of Pups was assigned to "Bomb" a German airfield, but when the six of us arrived there were rather a lot of German pilots that objected to our presence over their airfield and took flight to chase us away. One of my flight turned and ran immediately, but fool that i was i descended to meet the German planes. I was swooping in on one of them when two more showed up behind me and what followed was 5-10 of the tensest moments of my life as i tried desperately to stay alive in a whirling treetop level battle while firing a few shots at whichever Albatross was closest to my nose in an effort to dissuade them shooting my poor plane to pieces. One of them I actually got a nice long burst into and he nosed down into the ground but then suddenly i was all alone except for the machine gunners on the ground still trying to shoot me down. I limped back over no-mans land, which my bullet ridden wings creaking ominously, and managed to set down at a friendly airfield just past Bethune I believe. I was convinced i wasn't going to survive that one (and also surprised that my claim was accepted.)
