I actually paid $60 for the A-10C so the price of $60 seems about right for a module of this fidelity. Money for me just now is pretty tight so I will just have to wait a little for a sale of sorts TBH. I remember with the Huey (I think), I paid $50 at release and it felt like around 3-4 weeks later it was on sale for a fraction of the price, I have also noticed this happen a good few times with modules since, whether it will happen so soon with the Mirage I don't know. I am just now trying to get to grips with the SU-27 after picking it up in the last sale and will purchase Nevada before the cut of date of Oct 1st to qualify for the 2 free campaigns, this will keep me going for a wee while. Saying that though, if Nevada is as good as it looks I can see me picking up the Mirage sooner than later whatever the price. In the end I suppose it's all down to our own personal priorities in what we want to fly and when. Mick.

"Hmmm, What are those F5s doing there" Its a red herring, its a SU25 with camouflage paint....... Nothing to see here, move along. Though what I really want to know about the mirage (for some strange reason its acquiring my interest) is... Q) Will the mirage be another module released into beta with a placeholder FM with an unforeseen date to its AFM/PFM (or whatever its called these days)? Or are the going to have the good flight model release for sale when the plane goes to market ? Thoughts on a postcard. P.s. Stop looking at the F5

The F-5, the darling of Red Flag? The most hated plane by A-10 and F-15 pilots? The F-5E runs circles around fighters and has probably the faster rate of roll of anything in the sky. it is very capable. Is that an F-5E I smell in the works? I might be wrong.... But I think its coming because:
Matt Wagner make a remark in a video
It makes sense in NTTR.
It will bring a lot of customers(only the dismal performing F-104 is sexier)
Makes for great dogfights.

So, quite simply, $60 for only the plane represents a real cost increase. A theoretical M2000+NTTR bundle, the closest equivalent to what A-10C originally offered, would be $100 at list prices. To match the original A-10C price, the M2000 would need to be $34 and NTTR $25. Frankly, that's probably the prices I'll wait to pay to get them, too.
I agreed with your whole post. I know sims are niche so I don't mind them being a bit more pricey. But, looks like you will have to wait a long time for a sale: http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=2484728&postcount=6 http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=147496 I'll have to pick and choose modules more carefully I suppose. I won't be impulse buying modules at those prices like I did with the Hawk at $15.

On the one hand, the frequent sales do dilute the appeal of paying full price.
That said, I think full price is too much. It's still $40 for the A-10C when not on sale? Really?

As I've said before, I think it's just down to where they are based. ED's based in Russia, whereas Razbam is located in different Western countries IIRC, so their expenses vary a lot. I'd guess that's why ED and BST sell all their modules dirt cheap several times a year, whereas e.g. Leatherneck "only" lowers the price by ~20%. Well, according to Wags, those cheap sales are a thing of the past. At low prices I'm tempted, and in some cases such as the Hawk, I end up buying the module. But I won't be paying $30 or so for a MIG-15 seeing that there are no time period units for them. Even if there was, I'm not paying that much for a MIG-15 on its own because I won't play it much. At low prices I often consider buying a module just to help out the devs, which is why I liked the sales. Even if I don't play it much, I'd probably get my moneys worth. I think the major DCS fans will buy them at full price regardless. With any luck, maybe we'll see $10-15 module sales return at a later date.

Sorry Razbam, your pricing smacks of a rip off, it has put me off completely, I was looking forward to throwing money at you, but with that price, see ya on special's day. But a $50 P-51D wasn't a ripoff? People really hate Razbam and the Mirage 2000 it seems. I don't hate them, I feel nothing for them, but for me it's the principle of the thing, I feel they are ripping us, if you allow them to get away with it now, when you look again these modules will be costing $80 or $90 in the near future, thats how businessmen roll, they not to be trusted at all, they not your friends, if you give them a finger, they will take your arm. Anyway DCS has lost my loyalty, I will not buy another module at full price again, and I own all the modules and just about every one of them I bought at full price, to support the devs so that DCS wont die out, now I don't care anymore, they can go under for all I care, and DCS is the only game I play now so that should tell you something, but I will not do it again, specials for me only. Besides, how come the NTTR and the L-39 are $50 but not this module? What makes them so special eh? Surely the NTTR map was 20 times the work of a single plane? I'm not sure how much the map cost, but I'd imagine its cheaper than an aircraft. I'm purely guessing here though. And a Mirage 2000 is not a L-39. The A-10C was $60 to. Personally, I think the WWII planes should be $15-20, the trainers roughly the same, planes like the Mirage 2000C around $40-50, and multi role planes at $60. That is before sales. I don't value the trainers/WWII planes nearly as much, mainly because they're much simpler to make.

Nope, just the big sales (i.e. 70% off). Thing is that those of us spoiled by the fire sales of the past few years would balk at the steam sales. 40% off? Pffft!

some people prefer to wait and buy a fully patched and working product at more affordable price - while others insist in paying full price for bug-ridden not quite finished products, it is a matter of taste obviously, but with a developer like the developer of DCSW, between the two possibilities, it is an easy choice to make.

Sales a thing of the past ?
hmmm , mixed messages from Ze Fόhrer Wags, who would have thought ? He said that the sales will be rarer after the Steam sale announcement. I wouldn't think that was too hard to imagine. Also, he said cheap sales. The older sales went as low as 70%.

Better to sell some half finished products at 70% off than no half finished products at full price? Time will tell

Well, if I didn't buy it at 70% off, I certainly won't be buying it at 40% off.
