I may have to pick up that TBR. Not THAT different, you can do a 7 energy build now, but adding an LRM on there might be nice. According to mechlab, it doesn't require jump jets. More slots for heat sinks.
Strongly driven by community feedback, the new MechLab is intended to provide a more intuitive and consistent experience when building and customizing your 'Mechs. Beyond many 'quality of life' improvements, we wanted to ensure that this new MechLab retained the same core functionality as its predecessor. With the implementation of an array of additional fixes and feature improvements since the end of the PTS session, along with the integration of some excellent community feedback, we're excited to officially introduce the revamped MechLab.
The release of the new MechLab comprises the bulk of this patch, but rounding things out we have the addition of an FOV slider and Cockpit Glass toggle to the Settings menu, a slight buff to Clan Autocannons and Clan Ultra Autocannons, fixes for the Invalid 'Mech and partial item redemption issues, tool-tip functionality throughout the client, and the introduction of an itemized redemption window when redeeming any content.
This patch also sees the initial release of the special Resistance 1 Variant 'Mechs for eligible owners of the top-tier Resistance 1 and Resistance 2 Collections (as part of the Irresistible Resistance promotion).
Read on for all the details, and we'll see you on the battlefield!

Change Log
The Improved MechLab
New methods of viewing and customizing the loadout of your BattleMechs A more intuitive interface Easier indications of which equipment can go where More detailed information for each item in the MechLab A new Select 'Mech window, featuring the ability to filter by Clan and Inner Sphere 'Mechs Additional features and changes, informed by community feedback
The new Select 'Mech window that you'll see in this release is the same system that was shown during the MechLab PTS session. We know there was a lot of feedback about this change in particular, and future adjustments to the new Select 'Mech window are being evaluated.
The Expanded view allows you to view and customize nearly all aspects of your 'Mech loadout in a single screen, without having to view by individual components.
To use the Expanded view, select it from the Layout dropdown inside the Warehouse window Please note that the Expanded view of MechLab requires a minimum resolution of 1600x900

Clan AC and Clan UAC - Reduction in volley delay
The delay between each projectile being fired in a single volley has been reduced for Clan Autocannons and Clan Ultra Autocannons. Both the C-AC and the C-UAC use the same values. C-AC2/C-UAC2: 0.11s (reduced from 0.14s) C-AC5/C-UAC5: 0.11s (reduced from 0.15s) C-AC10/C-UAC10: 0.11s (reduced from 0.16s) C-AC20/C-UAC20: 0.11s (reduced from 0.17s)
UI
First-Person Field of View Slider has been added to the Game Settings menu. Cockpit Glass toggle has been added to the Game Settings menu. Tooltips have been added to most buttons throughout the client. The 'Redeem Item' window will now provide a complete list of all items that have been redeemed.
Bug Fixes
Fixed an issue where 'Mechs would appear as 'Invalid' after returning from a match. Fixed an issue where all the items in a player’s redemption queue would not fully redeem after the initial login.

Guys guys guys! You've got to check out the new SW Battlefront Hoth gameplay footage. Looks friggin amazing! Also the new Ghost Recon game. The storyline is reminiscent of Clark and Ding's unit in Clear and Present Danger....open world ala Far Cry, anonymously chopping away at a network of drug cartels to make them fight each other. Looks BRILLIANT! These games actually get me stoked for playing shooters again. I hope we have the numbers interested to work these games into our game nights.
The first pre-Open Beta unlimited public testing will take place on the 24th and 25th of September, 2015
A good time to get in without being behind like WOT or War Thunder. Modern armor! (Sinner) JarheadEd says it's got PvE in some good sized groups as well as MP.

Jingles showed some co-op. It has a little way to go, some AI still spawns in, but he said the missions were good. Multiple objectives with sequential missions and the AI wasn't good. You can pick easy/medium/hard/insane levels for the AI. It scales with you as well. I like that it's modern. I hope they include some transport or rescue missions so you need an APC.

WoW and this should tide me over until SWBF comes out. I think it's too late to get into WT or WoT. I like being in there at the start so I don't get left behind too fast.
Armored Warfare looks good hopefully more sim than WOT, maybe sim isn't as important as I thought though, World of Warships has definitely been a nice surprise, I initially wasn't interested due to the simlite approach, but once I tried it I've been loving it.
Did you guys buy a founder pack for Armored Warfare to get to play it? is it worth it at this point?
BTW R6 Siege closed beta should be starting this week, that is looking like it might be fun for us to try out, new gameplay vid:

I haven't played AW yet, Ed was telling us about it. The co-op in particular is the draw. Tonight I think you can download for a stress test for the next few days, then the open beta starts. Sims are too dry and dull or take too long to learn...arcade games aren't fun for more than a day. Something comfortably in the middle would be just right. At this point, I don't care about sim or arcade, I just want it fun and engaging. I know it when I see it.
I don't have the time in my life anymore to learn a sim game unfortunately. I tried DCS a couple of times and started to get the hang of it, but I just can't keep up the skillset with my real life time pressures: ie. kids.
Something in the middle would be great. Something relatively easy to pick up, but rewards skill and teamwork is ideal for me playing with the group here.
I wouldn't mind trying Insurgency sometime, picked that up a while ago and did some tutorials, but that's it. Not sure if I will like it though, depends on how 'twitchy' the gameplay is. I am getting old and slow.

I got in as one of the early access testers, so I haven't bought into a founders pack. It is definitely not a sim level game. It is fun, PvP is good, and PvE is better since you can roll in with the homies. You can form a Battalion, which will be your SimHQ tag in game, and the game lets you platoon up through your in game friends list. There is a 2 tier split limit in a platoon, so you can run tier 3's and tier 5's in a PvE.
