I've started uploading footage from the co-ops we've been involved in with DBS and Co here. Anyone who likes this sim can see what is possible and we've had a lot of fun in the last month or so thansk to the guys who have built and organised the missions.

IL-2 Battle of Stalingrad Co-Ops

I'm also trying to get in to the habit of recording tracks and footage since I always forget and/or end up deleting stuff due to limited SSD space.

This stuff isn't meant to be cinematic and is predominantly raw footage which has been edited together and is really more for posterity than anything else. I have done my best to improve the quality of the footage which is probably obvious compared to the earlier videos and they now should look decent in 1440p.

Just watched that one....very nicely done. What the game lacks in numbers of aircraft it makes up for in it's graphical immersion...

I just uploaded the first of the Veteran Velikiye Luki missions. If anyone hasn't tried these then I really recommend them, unfortunately the track doesn't play back the cool voice acting and subtitles which is very immersive.

Second mission up. Did go quite so well as I probably didn't pay enough attention to the briefing. I added hyperlinks so you can skip the cross country flying unless you are weird like me and enjoy that stuff biggrin

Mission 3. No problems finding the enemy this time but get a little over enthusiastic with predictable results. Check the description for links to the interesting bits.

Epic and very long battle!!

DBS Bomber Night Co-Op #5

We were tasked to escort He-111 to supply a newly captured airfield after our ground forces advanced. Additionally we were to provide CAP over our tanks to the North. At the last minute JG5_Jizzo and myself decided to go direct to the staging area to take a look while the rest escorted the He-111s and patrolled the area. We didn't see anything for what seemed like ages and were turning South to head to the rest of our fighters when the video begins but we then spot what seemed to be the entire VVS airforce behind us! This fight went on for ever, it was incredibly hectic and we did everything to put pressure on the enemy fighters to push them low. Initially it was just Jizzo and myself but we called in reinforcements and Schuck, Custard and ChiefWH headed towards us plus the two 6./JG5 guys Thijs and MetalG but the latter both experienced technical difficulties and were out of the fight half way through. Most of the footage is from my cockpit, I tried to put in clips of other peoples attacks but it was taking hours and the video was getting longer and longer so I had to call it a day.

Claimed 4 Yaks destroyed (intel reports two more damaged on landing) and two IL2s destroyed at the end, one in an unfortunate collision which was JG5's only loss for the night, we also lost a He-111 due to flak damage.

Feel free to skip the intro I was just experimenting with some ideas biggrin

Next DBS Bomber Night Co-Op should be up on Saturday/Sunday depending on how much action we get.

The latest DBS Bomber night co-op #6

These missions are so much fun but hard work as we never really know what to expect.

I have to admit it doesn't bother me at all, there are other things that really do though and I would very much like to see the terrain.ini file return or better draw distance options because it's been a bit of a setback since the patch. Still there's plenty of other threads talking about this stuff already so....

smile

Been away from the sim for way too long biggrin

New video and hopefully a bit of an improvement.

We had a short but eventful flight on the WOL server which threw up a couple of small surprises.

This time rendered in 1080p at 60 fps instead of 1440p, I'm not sure if many people watch in 1440p anyway and so far I've found it impossible to capture 1440p with 60 fps.

Great use of camera angles Emil!! If you modify the nose cam to 3.0,0.0,0.0 it will be perfect for gun camera view.

Thanks Hooves

I really wanted to have a play with these new(ish) camera angles.

I find the F11 one really hard to line up and it takes a bunch of attempts to get it right.

Will try out the guncam idea smile
