The D2 rolls well and responds fairly quickly when you haul back on the stick. Use this against both the Nieup and the SPAD by going into a shallow dive and allowing them to commit to their following attack, then roll to their weak side and pull back, (their weak side being whichever one they are attacking from). If you time it properly your attacker will often blow by you and if you are quick you can fall in behind them long enough for a gun burst or two. Just be sure you don't burn off your speed as you will need it to continue this process until you have either vanquished your foe or find the need to bravely run away.

Gaw, use a "Roller-Coaster-Turn": Go down for gaining Speed, then simultaneously go up while flying a sharp turn (...and go down at the End of the Turn again). AI does that quite often with all Albs, works great. The Ns and Spads mostly try to outmaneuver you by flying a tight "Normal Curve", but they cannot get you that Way.
When they loose Interest and turn away, you need an Average of 100 (x2) Rounds for a Lucky Hit @ +/- 100 Meters (Setting: Less Accurate), to make him perform an evasive Maneuver (usually a full 360 with Loss of Altitude), that helps you pinning him down.
To relativize this: Expect the Unexpected.
AI does react this Way often, but we all know, that there are too many Factors in the Game for making anything predictable...

Gaw, don't get too cockey and self assured! Stay alert mate!

MudWasp, nice skin! I like the simplicity and colour tones!

Lederhosen, welcome to the fray.

If nothing else, this challenge will put all of us on the same side! Isn't that unique!

ATTENTION!

If you haven't considered it already, may I suggest you all download my latest FM Mod from the official WOFF site and use it in the challenge. I am sure you will find that it will enhance the handling characteristics of the Albatros. It is JSGME ready and self installing. It won't help you with the DII but will if you get to the DIII early.

Best Regards;

Wow, some lovely skins!

By contrast, my modest first effort celebrates my high flying "Eagles" from South London....

Cristen Pallitz will play both left wing and right wing, in his newly decorated Albatros DII....

Harry, I'm curious about the reference to "Eagles" from South London. My great grandmother's surname was Eagles and the family was from South London. Any connection?

Rick: Your survey REQUIRES people to answer whether they survived the whole challenge (even though it hasn't begun yet), and how they died (even if you select 'Survived whole challenge')
