Thanks. They surprised me with it. Doorbell rings, a guy from my provider with a modem in a box at the door, says he comes to upgrade my line. I said I didn't ask for it, he replies it's standard procedure for all their customers, nothing to pay, all free, modem included. 20 minutes later I got great speed, all works great, I am a happy camper My best regards, Kodiak.

1. is your hardware ok ...
2. where is the server.

Comcast upgraded again a few weeks ago. Should be around 75Mb/s, but there's no telling how many devices are online right now in here. We can get by with less, but it's not uncommon for probably 10 devices (or even more) to be online at the same time around here so I won't drop lower. As long as I'm not paying more, I'm happy. Fiber is coming to the area in certain neighborhoods. I hear it runs about another $15/mo above what I pay Comcast right now. I'm sure it's nice, but there's a point where more speed isn't beneficial, except maybe for uploads for youtube videos. They love pushing download speed more than anything, and skimp on the upload. You might be capable of downloading 100Mb/s, but it doesn't mean the server you're using will give you anything remotely like that for your download or streaming. Even Steam usually keeps you below 10Mb/s, and they're one of the best hosts for downloading files. It's good to have the bandwidth the more devices you have going, but if you aren't adding devices and demanding services, the upgrade won't do you much good.

They have 300Mbps available from my cable company, but I'm making do with whatever it is that gives me about 90. They have a 100 tier which would probably give me well over 100 since I don't have "90" but something less right now.
While 300 would be nice, I'm sure it's a lot more $$ and I don't need it.

I was able to download Far Cry 4 (about 30 GB) in about 15 minutes. That's good enough for me. Wow. I knew the internet could be fast, but I never knew how fast. I started downloading Shadow of Mordor on Friday night hoping to play on Sunday and it's still going. And there's a 50GB monthly limit.

My internet sucks, I don't need a test to tell me that. Thanks to the military, it's just barely acceptable. I'm so jealous I have friends in Phoenix who will be getting Google Fiber in the next year or two.

Kodiak, my dear friend... you're with Skynet. You getting 'free' higher speeds only means it's gearing up for war. Yes, against Humanity.
There is a theory which states that if ever anyone discovers exactly what the universe is for it will instantly disappear and be replaced by something even more inexplicable. There is another theory which states that this has already happened.

The beginning of this month (2nd august) I got an upgrade for free from 10 Mbps to 63Mbps, and yesterday, on a sunday, while I was playing GTA V Online my internet connection disappeared for a couple of minutes. Straight after that I get a call from my provider, they boosted my speed again. Now I am at 91Mbps, and all the upgrading was for free. Nice!!! I am SO happy! My best regards, Kodiak Come to the darkside... Telenet Edit: to the same Antwerp server
