Here's a freaking great mood setter for the weekend!...

The rusty wire that holds the cork that keeps the anger in
Gives way and suddenly it’s day again
The sun is in the east
Even though the day is done
Two suns in the sunset, hmph
Could be the human race is run

One more from the 80's.

This one is among a handful of songs that I can relate to not at all, yet my collection would be incomplete without it...

So many good ZZ Top songs in their discography, but this one has a mighty fine memory attached to it...

I Need You Tonight (2008 Remaster)...

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PTiwF0z5Auc

EDIT: First video NSFW made it through YT censors (I don't even have an account thus no adult material), replaced with album cover.

Going back to watch the first one though, looks like an excellent fan video.

In most cases, I think the earlier albums are always the best in my opinion.

Most bands run our of ideas after the 3rd/4th album, or are presured by there lable to head in a different (more comercial) direction. There are exceptions of course.

I like all of there albums up until "El Loco". I don´t dislike the rest but I find they lose a bit of what there core music was about on the newer albums after El Loco.. A similar thing to what happened to Aerosmith, and not to mention alot of other bands.

Just my opinion though.

Yeah, I agree. This very popular Hits compilation released in 1977 covered some of ZZ Top's earlier stuff...
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Best_of_ZZ_Top

Side 1: "Tush", "Waitin' for the Bus", "Jesus Just Left Chicago", "Francine", "Just Got Paid"
Side 2: "La Grange", "Blue Jean Blues", "Backdoor Love Affair", "Beer Drinkers and Hell Raisers", "Heard It on the X"

++++++++++

Same with DLR Van Halen, some fans panning 1984 for being too synth-heavy in hits like "Jump" and "I'll Wait" (which I like but agree they're not as good and suffer from 80's influences).

But there's still some very good non-synth Rock on that album...

Van Halen - Drop Dead Legs...

Top Jimmy (2015 Remaster)...

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ssi9du5lUpA

Also "House of Pain" (the B-Side to my "Jump" 45), and of course classics like "Panama" and...

Van Halen - Hot For Teacher (Official Music Video)...
