Which is rather ridiculous since Rush was a progressive rock band and Led Zep was a rock band with heavy rhythm and blues influence.

Remember it revolved around Rush's first album (KISS wanting Rush to open for their US shows)...

Ah yes, thanks for pointing that out. I do recall that Rush's first album was indeed very different from what their sound eventually became and of course there was no Neil Peart.

Just FYI, I believe we've cruised the same number of times we've seen Rush: 7. I don't miss taking cruises so much, but walking the 'Quarter with all the Rush (and other Rock) fans before their "Time Machine" concert (best setlist and performance, IMO) can never be matched. Miss you, Rush. frown

Good tune! I'd never heard of them.

Read in Wikipedia that some German musician I never heard off died last week, so I looked him up, Manuel Göttsching.
The band is called Ash Ra Tempel, the genre Krautrock, though if someone had asked me about that genre, I would have thought of some different kind of music ;), but it certainly fits in the 70ies....

Switching gears, and with a wonderful discovery! The original is back!

I really had to dig to find it, re-posted earlier this year, hidden away in a dark corner of YT, I suppose.

And I wasn't the only one unhappy that it was removed and replaced with "VAN HALEN - CABO WABO SOLERPLEXSTUDIOS INC"...

Angry YT comments:

==========
"What the hell happened to this video? I used to get super inspired to work out watching this and now it's just way too PC for me! What happened to freedom of expression? I guess that's a bad thing these days! And yes I am a woman and not offended At All by the other video! Bring it back!!!"

"WHAT THE #%&*$# HAPPENED HERE..........????? HUH.........????"

"#%&*$# you tube. That video was the bomb!!! They killed it"
==========

One day I bet all of our favorite sexy videos will be removed including "Hot for Teacher" and "Girls, Girls, Girls", as this one fan video was for so long.

Sooo...enjoy it while it lasts, folks!

Ah, one two more, staying in 1988 (hard to believe this and Cabo Wabo is that old) with a Grunge-looking cutie well before the Grunge look was a thing...

Something I didn't know...

Post-marriage to Jabba's slave girl (Jedi...1983), Paul Simon has been married to Edie Brickell (posted above) since 1992.

Paul Simon's Spouses (Wiki)
=======================
Peggy Harper (m. 1969; div. 1975)
Carrie Fisher (m. 1983; div. 1984)
Edie Brickell (m. 1992)

On a personal note, how many afternoons did I hear "Slip Slidin' Away", Steve Miller Band's "Fly Like An Eagle" and Earth Wind & Fire's "September" while coming home on the school bus from either elementary or middle school, along with those other Paul Simon hits!

As always, and second only to VH's "Ice Cream Man" to vividly send me back to a particular time and place.

Mopping a grocery store waiting for closing time and for my girlfriend (future wife) to come pick me up (before I had a license and a car). I sure could go for some Godfather's Pizza today.

^ cheers cheers cheers

The whole Beth - [Parson] Nathaniel exchange is one of my favorite parts of the album! Ah, it's all great.

And while I prefer the original classic era and location for WotW (as with Jeff Wayne's Musical Version), it was creepy seeing visuals in the Tom Cruise movie of the Martians extracting human blood.

Made me think of the Parson, "IT'S A SIGN!"
