Also atmospheric planes involved.

And word that not only will we get 1.4 "CQC", but also a 1.5 "Ships" update as part of the base ED package.

Fun stuff!

400 billion star systems worth of planets sounds quite amazing. Unfortunately I don't have a lot of faith in FD offering anything particularly interesting to do on them.

It's ironic that they add the very atmospheric radio comms to the trailer when the game itself suffers from not having anything of the sort.

lol this is my exact view on the game. Hundreds of thousands of hours of exploration gameplay... 10 minutes of repetitive things to do.

I'll admit, as much as I love and praise E:D, the absence of content has caused a sharp decline in my participation. I'll definitely check out the updates when they become available, especially planetary landings!

Wasn't this part of the original scope, now all of a sudden an expansion?!?

They sure know how to milk people for money!

?
Odd you'd think that... it was announced this way since the earliest kickstarter pitch.

You want to see people milked by videogames companies? I think I have a couple in mind.

LOL

Nothing even comparable to all the willing suckers who poured in obscene amounts of moolah to those marketing bull$hitters at Star Citizens in return for next to nothing. You want to see lack of content, Star Citizen is currently about as empty as space itself.

"On the tin".

Now there's a totally outdated expression when it comes to PC games!

“Whoever fights monsters should see to it that in the process he does not become a monster. And if you gaze long enough into an abyss, the abyss will gaze back into you.”

About as outdated as "tin foil", when it's all made from Al now, yet people still use that as well.

It was planned as an expansion from the beginning.

So everyone waits two decades for a reboot of one of the most loved space games ever, and then *SQUEES* at the idea of driving around?

I'd actually say StarCitizen has more content than ED but I think it is probably just going to come down to opinions.

The expansions for ED were always going to be released like this from when it was first announced with no change to date. If you were an alpha or beta backer you get the expansions for free. If you only bought it after release then you will have to buy EVERY one of their expansions which they plan each major release as an expansion. (FPS, Planetary Landings etc each as their own full priced expansion.)

SC went the other way where you get the game for free and most of their expansions but you have to pay for the SP mission disks and then they sold the ships for tons of money. Not sure which way is better. SC gets a lot of flack for selling 1k dollar spaceships but now ED will get an equal amount of flack for selling a full priced DLC pack for what amounts to a game update.
