I just discovered this on Steam's Greenlight. It looks good but I can't glean much information about it from the page. Looks and sounds like just what we here like but who knows what the actual product will be. More sim or more arcade? If I read correctly it sounds as though there's a naval simulation element in there too along with the combat flight of the Harrier to control.
Well, now....that's interesting. I see Harriers (well, okay. One Harrier). I see an island that could pass for the Falklands. And I could have sworn that those enemy jets that went by, highlighted in red, looked like A-4's. You don't suppose that this is what happened to the old "Jet Thunder" game.

I don't think so, the Harrier is AV-8B II model, (Jet Thunder had RAF's Sea Harriers), the theater is Strait of Hormuz not Falklands, and the graphical engine looks a bit different than in Jet Thunder (see water modelling).
Ed Scio was the guy who coded the original Combat Air Patrol for the Amiga. That game was a pretty good sim set in the gulf war and featuring the F-14 and F/A-18 along with a ground campaign mode.
I've wondered why it is called CAP 2, now I know, thanks Evil Flower. I played the original CAP on Amiga 500 and loved it back then. The PC version on the other hand was not so good apparently (didn't played that version). I hope CAP 2 will turn all right.
Another update, Kickstarter campaign incoming. Probably after the weekend. I think there is a big hole in combat flight sims market, once covered by Thirdwire. I'm not affiliated with them, but I wish them all the best.
I also believe that we really need something between arcade (like those arcade MP flight games out there) and fully realistic (like DCS or Falcon BMS) combat flight sim, in the lines of Thirdwire sims and/or Jane's USAF. This really look like it's shaping up to take up that place.
I just think that for the sake of modern times they should have modeled a F-35B instead of the AV-8B but in the end anything between realistic and fun is just fine for me.
