Trying desperately to throw stuff out pending a move, and I came across a box with:

2 Thrustmaster WCS II
1 Thrustmaster FCS Mark 2 (NOT PRO)
1 Thrustmaster FCS Mark 1 (NOT PRO)

http://retroflightsim.blogspot.com/2014/10/thrustmaster-fcs-pro-and-wcs-mark-ii.html

Honestly I have no idea how good they are. The WCS II's seem like they are in good shape.

No good for any modern system, but it hurts me to send them to the trash. They use GAME PORT for connections which makes them nearly useless for modern hardware.

Anyone interested can have them, though I might ask for help in shipping depending on how much it ends up. They are pretty light.

I still have an FCS PRO (stiffer springs and metal base compared to stock FCS) and WCS 2 attached to an old computer, and honestly I may have to say goodbye to them too, but for now I am keeping them.

I always preferred the WCS II to the TQS/COUGAR throttle for feel.

Apparently some folks were still managing to use them in the MODERN ERA.

Ooh man I hope you don't have to trash anything. If anything see if someone on ebay would want them for their collection. Even dirt cheap is better than dumping them.

If Komemiute doesn't take an FCS/WCS II set, I'm interested. Just tell me how much to ship to Peterborough, ON K9H 2A7 and I'll pay for it.

Cool!! Thanks guys!!!! I will be in touch. Probably plan on sending a set each. I also found some manuals/tech supplements for the WCS II's but I don't know if I have 2 complete sets. Will be sifting through stuff more and will get an accurate count.

In the interests of full disclosure, the Keyboard port is the old fat 5 pin DIN. I used to have adapters for the PS2->DIN and I also saved a few keyboards with the DIN. Of course modern keyboards are all USB anyway, so it probably doesn't matter.

You have no idea how happy I am NOT to trash them.

If possible make friends with (or check if any of your friends are friends with) a U.S. Military person stationed in Italy. Postage to them is the same as it would be here in the U.S.

I would've been all over this had I noticed sooner!

I keep a computer around specifically for gaming on DOS, Win98SE and WinXP, and the DOS stuff specifically needs gameport gear. (At least until I figure out how to get those USBUHCI drivers' gameport emulation working properly.)

The FCS/WCS combo is particularly desirable because of how well they were supported by DOS sims, down to having pre-made profiles and everything. Better yet, it looks like the WCS Mark IIs can switch between keyboard emulation for the main throttle axis (because the FCS maps the hat switch to axis 3 and early games expect this) and proper analog throttle control with keyboard emulation on the FCS hat switch (for later games that support it). That's a pretty wide range of compatibility there.
