Use this link: http://1drv.ms/1wEtRdT

Download "140InstALL" which is a 7-zip self installer. Run it on your desktop or C drive, or wherever you want to install it.
It will create a 140RV2CDF folder with these contents:

Note that there is a "Myeaw.ini" file which is a renamed version of my own "eaw.ini" file. If you want to use it rename it as "eaw.ini", but preferably add your own "eaw.ini" file from your current installation.

To play EAW you must use the "DSP140V4.exe"

You must select one of the two versions of the exe ("O" uses the old map and "N" uses the new map sytstem), one of the "Dir.set"files and a planeset number:

Here I have selected the new map version of the exe, the "HawkWMSL" dir.set, and planeset 2.

You will not need to make any of the other selections unless you are hosting an online game at GameRanger.

If you need to find the settings for various things in the game check the "eaw.ini" file.
By default Ctrl-1 starts/stops engine 1, and Ctrl-2,3 and 4 starts/stop engines 2, 3 and 4.

Finally, depending on your card and driver you may need to use one of the windower programs if you encounter graphical problems on the selection screens.

Happy flying smile

I tried to install but the graphical palette simply freak out and I lose control of the machine. I guess I have to use one of those windower programs... Any lead?

Anyone else have a missing prop on the Ju88A-4?

I picked the new map version of the exe, the "HawkWMSL" dir.set, and planeset 5 in D3D.

Thanks Mark.
It is a bug with all twin engined planes in the new map exe. I have no idea how it happened, and it is not in the old map exe.
So I need to find it.

Fixed smile

There is a "140CNV58" file in the usual folder at OneDrive for those who used the single file installer.
Download it and put it in the "EAW Versions" folder to replace the bad one.

For those yet to download the single installer I am about to re-pack it with the corrected file so that this patch is not needed.

Sorry Russ wink

I have moved a lot of outdated stuff into storage.
The folder is much simpler to use smile

You can see the patch (140CNV58) and the new replacement 140InstALL which I have just uploaded to replace yesterday's version. The new one does not need the patch.

There are a couple of my ini files with for my system with or without rudder pedals, the nGlide installer, and DXW25 which is a 7-zip self installer giving you the DXWindower program for Windows 7.

If the garbled map screen is a problem in Windows 7 (or earlier) then download the DXWnd windower program "DXW25" which is another 7-zip self installer.
When you run it you will get a "DXW25" folder. Run the "dxwnd.exe" in it and hopefully you will see this:

Chances are that the green circle is not green, because our paths to the "eaw.exe" are different.
Single click the EAW140GR to select it, go to "Edit" and select "Modify":

Set the correct paths for both "Path:" and "Launch:" to where your "eaw.exe" is located.
Then click OK.
You should now be able to run EAW in a window, and with lauch the garbled map problem will be fixed.
This will work in Windows 7 but there is a problem and a different fix for W8.1 and W10.

OK, it runs great now- way above 100 FPs.
My trouble now is that my HOTAS Warthog and Saitek pedals are not recognized... :P Will try something but if there's a quick fix- I'm all ears!

Copy from another thread:
I have just set up my Logitech joystick and Saitek rudder pedals combination in Windows 7.

The critical sections of my "eaw.ini" file read:

============================
[CONTROLS]
Force Feedback=0
Force Feedback Gain=7500
Flight Sensitivity=1.000000
Camera Sensitivity=5.000000
Swap Mouse X=0
Swap Mouse Y=0
Windows Joystick=1
JoystickDeadZone=4
Snapview Speed=5
Device1 Port=1
Device2 Port=2
Device3 Port=3
Rudder Device=2
Throttle Device=1
Stick Device=1

Key Device=0
POV Device=0
Guns Convergence Z=0
Guns Convergence Y=0
============================

and
============================
[Remappable Keys]
FLIGHT CONTROL=Joystick
CAMERA CONTROL=Mouse
RUDDER CONTROL=Rudder
THROTTLE CONTROL=Throttle

etc

============================

It is essential to use the windows control panel to set the joystick as the preferred device:

Select the joystick

Click "Advanced"

Set the joystick as the preferred device.

Ok, it's amazing. It mostly works.
I am definitely NOT complaining- I'm really happy as a matter of fact- just... the left throttle of the Warthog (outboard) actually controls the rudder and the rudders do nothing.

Anyone with the Warthog has managed a proper configuration .ini ?

Which HOTAS Warthog stick do you have?
and which Saitek pedals do you have?

Are the stick and throttle using one USB plugged into the computer or are they separate plugs into the computer?
