- tree blocking of sights and weapon impact later (dependent on the performance!) Does that mean that the collidable trees might not be included, or just half done, i.e. collidable but without stopping the AI seeing and shooting right through them?

each client in a Multicrew-Aircraft need a Licence for this aircraft "You want to try DCS? I bought a trainer." "Cool. I've always wanted to try flight sims." "You have to spend $40 for your seat though." "Oh, well nevermind, I'll go back to playing Counter Strike: Global Offensive."

"You have to spend $40 for your seat though." "Oh, well nevermind, I'll go back to playing Counter Strike: Global Offensive." I'm not a big advocate of ed but if someone wants to try dcs it's free and includes 2 free aircraft to try out. One doesn't have to spend $40 for a seat
DCS Kickstarter Wags July 2014 "In this July 2014 update, the primary news is in regards to the restructured backer rewards. After a careful review of the older system under RRG, we found it financially unattainable." Wags October 2017 "the investment vs. generated revenue has been excellent for the World War II aircraft. In fact, the P-51D Mustang has twice the cost effectiveness of the A-10C Warthog."

Dunno, Rise of Flight manage to lend a seat for gunners for free. I can't see how it can't be implemented elsewhere.
I can't see somebody to buy a Huey just to man the 'guns. True that it gets considerably cheaper during sales but still...
Whatevs, I still basically own over 75% of them...

Whatevs, I still basically own over 75% of them... I still hope they will distinguish between flyable plane slots and gunner slots. I have no problems purchasing a module to fly in the backseat, but wouldn't buy a module just to be able to play as gunner in a Huey. Btw: Terrible interview, I couldn't watch it for more than 5 minutes.

Would be best if gunners are free, but maybe there is an issue that they will then require the cockpit files without the license? Sure they could work a way around it though. Maybe like Arma where you all get the low res versions included.
So will NTTR be an empty scenery like FSX photoscenery for a while? Was looking forward to sight seeing and low flying in the Huey past tall buildings.

NTTR has a high to medium area about 300km x 300km with buildings, tree, powerlines etc. pp; but the rest of the 600km x 600km map will empty (in the open alpha)!

From what I understand NTTR features three different levels of grafical detail, depending on the area of the map. The "low quality" areas are basically the edges of the map. I take it this is the region without 3d objects. There are plenty of 3d objects in the medium and high detail areas.

Btw: Terrible interview, I couldn't watch it for more than 5 minutes. I basically just had the window minimized to listen, watching the video as terrible seeing has it was just clicking different things in DCS. The interview didn't really provide anything new but at least ED is sharing something now.

Whatevs, I still basically own over 75% of them... To be fair in RoF the gunner's entire action set pretty much only includes "sit up", "sit down", "aim gun", "shoot gun", and "reload gun" The copilot in something like the Huey effectively has control over everything in the aircraft. It'd be really cool to be able to lend out a seat but with the free planes I'm not bummed about missing out on that.

There are two seats in the Huey that are nothing but point the gun and shoot. Just sayin'

- Open Alpha will have DCS World 2.0 + NTTR (payware or free for A-10C Beta User) + Caucasus + Su-25T + TF-51D (no split to bring DCS World 2.0 earlier!)
During his livestream yesterday, Wags mentioned that DCSW 2 might be released before NTTR if it is ready before NTTR is ready. More specifically, I believe he said (paraphrasing) that NTTR won't hold up the release of DCSW 2.

Yet DCSW 2 will by necessity hold up NTTR. The Jedi Master

I'm not saying that every operational-class multi-crew module shouldn't require a license for each user. I'm saying it's potentially very shortsighted to not have any free second crew member, especially a trainer, some airplane that's very demo-like like it can drop practice bombs.
