I've flow a handful of missions and "A Flight" flies too low in the mountainous regions of Alsace. April 1916 out of Luxeuil in the early Nupe with Esc Laf.

Workshop setting "Historical" for Player Flight. We would be crashing too if I didn't lead the missions. TAC info wants player patrolling at approximately 3,900 ft.

I know I can select a higher altitude for my flight. Would doing so make any difference for "A Flight"?

I went woff to answer my own question and changed player flight altitude to medium. Campaign loaded balloon busting with "A-Flight" assisting.

TAC info wants us to fly at 7,000 ft and "A-Flight" is above and behind us.
That change seems to have fixed things for me. Will see if it continues to do so on other mission types involving "A-Flight". Time to check out the rockets on the early Nupe and try to take out a balloon.

I had posted a similar issue previously. Changing the mission altitude helped me as well. I'm glad it bumps up the escorts as well.

I thought a fix was in the works for this. Maybe next patch?
