Quoting myself from the "Whatcha playing thread, the Open Beta Test is officially announced:

One might imply from this, that the OBT starts at June 25 00:00 CEST, but that's just my speculation wink

That is earliest 25th, or whenever they deem the right time - general assumption on the forum seems to be "traditional" patch day, => Friday.

Edit:
And the next step follows suit, June 26:
Patchnotes 0.4.0
And this update comes along with the wipe of all player stats, as it has been announced for the switch from CBT to OBT:
Quote:
The patch is scheduled for June 26 and will be applied on the servers from 05:00 until 08:00 CEST during which the game server will be offline.
With the deployment of the update, your game progress will be wiped as previously stated, meaning your ships and even stats on your profile will be taken away or reset to zero respectively.

This does not necessarily mean that the OBT starts immediatly when the servers come up with this patch - also possible that they make it a soft launch as CBT for a few days before they finally open it to the public.
But then again, they already tested this patch version in a separate "Public test" accessible for all CBT participants, so who knows...

I really, really struggled with Destroyers.I would usually dash to the nearest cap and then get killed.I was lucky to even get torp hits some matches.Well then I watched this from The Mighty Jingles and what do you know,my first 3 games and I torpedo and sink 9 ships! I got 4 in my first match.I knew all about staying out of range etc but never applied that info. Now before every game I check the visibility ranges, turn off AA and for the Japanese Destroyers I never fire the main guns.I'm having so much fun right now smile

.40 is released and having a blast with so many starting from scratch.....it feels like a new game again. Sorta sucks that they took the Kitikami away....talk about a torpedo sled.

Just a heads up if you bought the humble bundle that Wargaming did not carry it over to OBT (or early access for closed beta testers as it stands) and is claiming they never said they would. After some angry complaints and the attention of at least one big gaming news site Wargaming announced they will give the Murmansk cruiser but not the 1000 gold, the 7 days of premium or the port slots.

Yeah, i hope not too many SHQ members got burned by that, esp. as I kind of "promoted" the package as a good offer on the previous page.
Can't even compensate you with a couple of shells into your hulls, as I am on the EU server...

I got burned by it and honestly shouldn't have been surprised because it's wargaming.net after all.

Though not yet officially announced, it looks like it is now possible for everyone to download the game client and login to the servers - Open Beta Test "silent" launch, it seems.

This links to the EU server discussion, which includes a download of the client for EU servers:
OPEN BETA is here

Due to the "urgency" (limited number), I make a new post instead of editing the one above...

Please see the short FAQ below!

•I can now download and play the game. Is this a mistake?

No, it is a planned capacity test, congrats to getting in! If we reach our planned capacity for this test, we will disable registrations again.

•So is this Open Beta already? Why there was no announcement?

There was no announcement because we’re not in OBT yet, but as you can guess it’s getting closer and closer. Stay tuned and keep an eye on our web resources!

•If I buy Doubloon/Premium ship packages in the Premium shop, will I be able to keep them?

Yes, the Premium shop goods you buy from this moment on will carry over to the OBT when it starts, as well as later through the game’s official release.

•What about the regular ships? Will there be any more wipes?

No, the latest wipe during the deployment of update 0.4.0 was the last one we had planned, so whatever progress you get now you shall keep.

•Can I stream / make videos / post on Forums about the game and its contents?

Yes, the game is not under NDA anymore. If you got in, feel free to enjoy and discuss!

Hope that answers the most burning questions and puts everyone at ease!

Action Stations! :honoring:

With respect to the "urgency" - maybe it gives you a day or three head-start to the official OBT wink

I'm already in smile
Having fun with my US tier 1 & 2 ships, working out how targeting works and getting better at not running into islands.
One thing that is bothering me, though, is that I am getting the sound bug. When multiple sounds are occurring it gets VERY staticy and unpleasant. Any ideas?

It's nice having more players online 24 hours a day, versus waiting up to 10 minutes for enough players to populate my tier range. Frustrating to start over but grwat having all of my gold/dubloons in my account to buy my premiums again. Now to focus on the Japanese cruiser line before grinding the US cruiser line. I really liked the Des Moines but the grind to it is more frustrating than the IJN cruisers.

Also, anyone interested in making a division on the weekend, let me know. My only challenge is I'm in Korea but not a show stopper when warned ahead of time.

My ingame name is same as here and WoT.

I really enjoy the DD's,the Japanese ones that is.Although the American DD's have better guns I much prefer the range and speed of the Japanese torps.I never even fire the guns on my Jap DD's,all it does is annoy the target and give my position away.

I finally got my beloved Omaha back.I love this ship!
