Why does WOFF offer better frame rates on higher settings?

When I lowered my WOFF display settings my frame rates fell,

I don't understand why!

High over the Front
That has been a long standing mystery observed for many years.
I will let the hardware gurus attempt an explanation.
But if I have to have an issue with a sim that is one I don't mind having!
