I am now prepared... I mean Prepar3d! Nothing amazing in these screenshots. I still haven't added anything. All my ORBX stuff will be added this weekend. I jumped into the sim after install, moved all the sliders/options to the right (mostly) and then just started trying stuff. These images are with the rainy weather theme at KSEA with cloud shadows and 3d fog enabled. I was happy to see the FPS stay pegged at the locked value and the sim was buttery smooth. More tests to follow. *disclaimer - this is also on a brand new laptop, so I can't compare performance to FSX only. My laptop probably accounts for most (if not all) of the performance improvement.

I recall that P3D allowed underwater ops. Is that true? And if so, has anyone tried it?
-S Also, now that I have installed p3d 2.5 there is no reason for me to keep FSX on my computer. This is sad but true. I even have a brand new, never opened copy of FSX/Acceleration that I bought in case they ever stopped making them. Now I don't know what to do with it. FSX is dead. The King (FSX) is dead. Long live the King (P3D).

I read that you have to pay again when there is an update, is this true?
If so, should I buy P3D now or wait a bit for the new version?

thank you
I bought it last week and I'm in the process on transfering every planes/airports/addons(takes so much time...)
Is there a way to have real life weather? I only see some presets weather that I can choose but not the ''update every 15mins'' like in FSX

Is there a way to have real life weather? I only see some presets weather that I can choose but not the ''update every 15mins'' like in FSX The "real weather" option in FSX has been dead for some time now. If you want real weather in FSX you need an external weather engine (Opus, Active Sky Next, FS Real Global weather, etc...)

Carenado should work fine with P3D. You might have to copy the FSX.exe out of the FSX main folder into the Prepar3D v2 main folder for the install to run. I have the Cessna 185F running without a problem.

Saw on the Flightsim Store that Cessna 182 RG is just for FSX and that was that for me. Tomorrow i'll try with SR22. Again, thanks a bunch!
