Yeah, Aris, that surely would look gorgeous, but I fear that would soak up Performance, drastically... the Gaphic-Card, that can handle that, has yet to be invented...
BTW, I currently use a 530 and WOFF runs okay on a relatively low to medium Level of Settings. It runs on nearly 100%, when it gets crowded in the Air and Temperature is 80-100°C, then. I think, a better (newer) one would make Sense, sooner or later. Any recommendations?

Just jumping in here since there is a lot of speculation going on.
Can anyone confirm or have knowledge as to whether the CFS3 engine would allow for volumetric clouds?

I will guess not unfortunately! At least not easily... I suspect you may be correct Duke, but I'm looking for the definitive answer from someone who knows for sure!

Pol made a comment months ago about volumetric clouds and his statement is that they could never get them to look as good as the current WOFF clouds, so they had no intentions of going there.

I can appreciate that. I wonder if between the magic of AnKors new shaders and graphic artists like ArisFuser something better might be possible now that wasn't before. Hard to say. I can certainly understand the devs wanting to focus on other projects for WOFF that make them more money. Who knows, maybe if they could be done, they could be added into the WOFF V3.0 Expansion ( disclaimer - I have no such knowledge of an expansion in the works - I am literally making crap up and fully and freely admit to that - so don't bug the devs about a V3.0 LOL)

Just wanted to verify the feasibility within the CFS3 engine. I'm not sure if Panama Red's comment is implying that it is possible.

Pol never said it was or was not possible, just that volumetric clouds would not look as good, so they were not going there.
I do know when flying through the clouds (at least using my Weather Mod) that a lot of them are already volumetric (with cloud fog ON), but a lot of them are 2D also.

Banjoman: Aris created the cloud mod, I created the Weather mod (two different mods).
What Aris did was upgrade the existing cloud.dds files to higher Res as well as enhancing their looks.
What I did was bring all the old weather files over from OFF3 as well as creating brand new weather files to enhance your Western Front flying experience.
