Glad he bought the sim (and that he's having fun!) but I hope he learns the basics. Multiplayer on a busy runway isn't where I like to see people crashing a lot when they haven't even gone through the game's training or RTFM wink

Oh, he didn't buy it biggrin

I wonder if he tried other servers... He'll have to know how to fly when he comes back.

WC, you guys handled him beautifully! Basically told him to RTFM without being elitist. Well done.

The average naval aviator, despite the sometimes swaggering exterior, is very much capable of such feelings as love, affection, intimacy, and caring. These feelings just don't involve anyone else.

Hey Crew, I had a great time in the Highway last night. We had three Hueys busting convoys for three times the fun!

How do you feel about adding an MI-8 to the Blue flyables? BIG rocket runs could be a lot of fun down that highway. I just don't have a sense of whether it would be survivable due to its size with all those SAM launchers staring at us.

Everybody gets everything they want. I wanted a mission. And for my sins..they gave me one.

Done! I have yet to see anyone fly one of those Mi-8s. It's got a lot of weps.

Working on a new mission called Pointe & Shoot. Blue is based at Min-Vody with all of those wonderful hills around it. Blue JTAC groups are on the tops of those hills and are watching for a Red armor invasion. The mission will run into the night, so expect to see a laser / pointer show as JTACs guide the a/c to targets.

I'm using [FSF]Ian's Witchcraft tool to place the JTAC Strykers. With it I can place the units in some great locations and get them set just right on a ledge or right behind a ridge, and rotate them, all in real time through the editor and a browser window.

---

I put in a C-101 but could not get any weps on it. Nice little two-seater (is this going to have multi-crew capability?). Since the C-101 couldn't load weps I also added a couple of Hawks with rockets and guns.

These Hawks look like fun. Today they were also added into The Highway mission, with guns and 'winders. Let's see if they can make it to the coast -- (Labels are Off in The Highway) --

Road trip from Reno to Las Vegas along Highway 95. We'll be passing through Fallon, NV, and Tonopah on the way to LV. Then back to Colorado on I-70.

I am looking forward to driving through the area, in anticipation of future flights there!

Not much in Fallon, but if you are there on Wednesday you can get the best prime rib you've ever had right after the cattle auction (no joke). Ask any local about the Wednesday prime rib and they'll know where to steer you (no pun intended).

Thanks, HomeFries,
That will be just about right for our trip. I would like to pick up a detailed map of the area -- is there a tourist trap there? Ahh, I see the Area 51 Travel Center

Not in Fallon. We would usually just go to Reno when I was on det there.

Whidbey Island is my old stomping grounds. If you get an opportunity, take the ferry to Whidbey and then head up to Oak Harbor. There's a family owned sandwich place called the "Pot Belly Deli" (not to be confused with the chain), though I know it moved to a different (larger) location in Oak Harbor after I left Whidbey. It would be worth looking up to see if it is still there, as it is absolutely the best sandwich I ever had. We would have guys bring them into the ready room during lunch, and just the smell alone would make another half-dozen guys grab their car keys to head out!
