In QC I went to Airplanes only, put it up as an Enemy, then moved ahead and lower and My guy shot it down time after time.
I tried to put my plane on auto pilot, then jump into the obs/ Gunner seat but my " chicken livered" auto pilot ran for cover. That is when I took over and gave my gunner a close and zero defelection shot.
Good Hunting

Put yourself in his boots...give him an angle on target and don't try to Turn&Burn...unless that will give your forward gun on target

When you go to gunner seat, your joystick should control the gun, so I don't know what you mean about commands.

I just got a confirmed Kill By doing just what I stated above.
Came up and under, got about 50m ahead and pulled up to give my gunner a perfect shot. The Av. B1 went down in pieces. My wing man was about 200m behind. We had a party after landing.
Like I said before, the autopilot runs away, so the sure kill method is to give the gunner a good shot. while you fly.

I tried that and nothing moved. Do you have to set your joystick up for that to work? Not only you cannot fly,but it seems you cannot move things in the cockpit either.... By the way the joystick takes care of the gun station movements by default, you don't have to map anything, also do not need to switch to autopilot before, usually the plane keeps flying in wide circles and slowly climb. Once you press F10 you are in charge of the gunners duty.

MudWasp--- Do as I have said before, you fly and let the gunner shoot. Autopilots can not fly and attack as well as you. Most of the time they "run for cover". The gunners mostly shoot well, some better than others.
My gunner as improved, but still must be about 100m or closer for a kill ( 50m is a sure kill ). If the target moves away you need to " un target it " and then re target it once it is in range. My gunner once tried to shoot at 200m, so that is why I do this procedure, to save ammo.
Flying Very Close and slow ahead of the target is exciting. A Kill is yummy & the party after is a Blast.
Practice in QC over & over. Once "We" killed three AV B1's in QC. Hope this helps.
And I wish more would help, rather than just add to there post numbers. Best advice, " Never pass up a chance to be quiet" !!

Banjoman, I just got 2 kills on one mission doing just what I discribed above.
You fly to give your gunner the best shot and "light up" the enemy as selected ( yellow ) and once in range ( less than 100m ) you gunner shoots.
Good luck, and practice this in QC.
