turn this up to 1080p before watching. I know you can only get 70,000 men on the screen at once for this to keep everything in scale. But it's still one hell of a good job in my humble opinion. Perhaps the graphical experience is not up to snuff for you.... I am so tempted.... 32 player multiplay or coop vs the AI as well. I got invited by an Australian group if I get it to play with them in their bi-weekly games that go for about an hour each.

It aint no total war and the sprites are 2D but look 3D because of the angles game. Terrain is tardy but 3D. But the mechanics and numbers involved for a computer game (or I dare say tabletop) are second to none. It does miss a few smaller tactical and formation aspects due to the 1:4 scale. For instance the light and grenadier companies cannot be detached when a regiment is only 200 sprites strong. You can still send skirmishers out to the front of the unit, don't get me wrong. You just cannot see the individual companies.

This looks great! Very reminiscent of the Take Command games, eerily so. I think games like this stand on their own regardless of graphics, but one criticism I had with the take command series and unit capping in the TW games is why the unit abstraction. Today's hardware should be able to handle the troop numbers of this era, no? I think it helps to have it as a toggle option to allow players with less PC hardware to play the game, no doubt, but I really can't get into the spacial aspect of this type of firing line warfare of yore without the full unit size taking up the landscape. Scale has always been something I get hung on, event as far back as Steel Panther games and model building, I still played/built them, but I yearned for the proper scale. I think this game looks and probably plays great so I hesitate to dwell too long on this subject. I'll keep my eye on it, thanks for the share!
